A very simple little motel, tidy, some of the fixtures and electrical outlets are in need of repair, no coffee maker in the room was kind of unusual. Mostly clean just well worn like the enamel in the tub and sink. Still was an ok stay with no issues.
The review is purely based on the room itself. Whenever I first walked into the room, there was a faint smell of sweat and weed. It sounds worse than it is, because, whether it's a good thing or a bad thing, you got used to the smell in a matter of time. Other than that, the people working at the office were very friendly and helpful.
My wife and I have lived here for almost a year, and we feel comfortable & secure. For affordable accommodations Red River Inn is the best selection in Alexandria. This establishment is managed by Nick, a very professional manager who takes immense pride in providing every guest with a quiet and comfortable stay. If you are not not satisfied with something he is sincerely concerned and will do whatever is necessary to improve your situation. He has a respectful & considerable staff who enjoy there job and work very hard to provide you with the most comfortable visit possible.
As far as cheap hotels are concerned I was amazed at how clean it is. Walls are thin but the bed was comfortable. Slept thru from 10 to 6am... plenty of food options within walking. Nice people.
I stayed here this past January for three nights and it was the worst place!! On one side of my room were a couple fighting all night and on the other someone going in and out slamming the doors. I was there for a pastors conference that I was really blessed but I dreaded to get to the hotel because it was terrible. On one of the nights there was a gentleman outside of the rooms demanding money from me so he could feed his girlfriend!!! Then the rooms were filthy dirty and the beds were also dirty. Never again!! I will be going next month to the same conference but I'd rather pay a little more than this one. Management was never there!!!
