It’s been about a year since I last visited and when I heard they recently changed ownership, I thought I will give them a try again. The last time I was there, I ordered the mac and cheese balls and they were frozen in the center. The server gave us a second batch and it was still frozen inside but burnt on the outside. While that appetizer wasn’t good, I remember their wings and burgers being amazing. Walking into their establishment, my stepdad and I were greeted warmly by Carly and she was very kind and helpful with suggestions on what to eat. The menu is still the same from before but we were told that it was going to be changed soon. We ordered the general alarm wings, onion rings, and a side of fries as the appetizer. For the main course, I got the flashover station burger which is their signature and my dad got the ribeye steak which is part of the Thursday special. The steak came with a salad which came out first and then we were surprised when the appetizers and main entrees were all brought out together. But confusion aside, the flavors of every dish were pretty good. The wings were coated with mango habanero sauce and were on the sweeter side and it didn’t taste spicy at all. The onion ring had good batter and were fried to perfection and the fries were crispy and nicely seasoned. I personally really enjoyed the burger, the patty was perfectly cooked medium and was juicy, the portion size was enormous, and the jalapeños add a nice light spice. The steak was seasoned well and tasted flavorful and tender. Overall, everything tasted great! This place is definitely worth a visit if you want good food with great vibes.

Update: 3td time here - they changed the type of fries served. So much better - seasoned deliciousness. I had the Stagecoach burger this time. Really good. Waitress was really accommodating and served me outside, despite me being the only one on the patio. Nice day and great views. I have been here twice now. I drop down here when I'm visiting Idyllwild. Prices up in the mountain are tourist price high. It's a scenic drive to get here and the food and atmosphere is better. I never feel rushed to get done and get out. Whisky pours were on the generous side and The Chief is a damn good sandwich. Fries kinda suck in my opinion, but the sandwich filled me up to where I didn't need fries. Service was fantastic.

More...GRILL THAN BAR these days. Beer was cold. Service was great. However...I SAW APPROXIMATELY 40 TABLES FROM HITHER TO YARN and only a dozen or so places to sit at the bar. So... This location's history as a Bar is moving towards a Eatery with spirits. I truly wish the new owner's vast success and good will. Good luck with it. See ya soon to try a menu item.
