Quality Inn & Suites
What people are saying
Exterior corridors. Carpeted rooms. Firm bed, but I slept well. Fairly quiet with minimal highway noise. Nice free breakfast with plenty of bacon! One of my towels was wet when checked in; I did not bother to ask why because I had plenty of other (dry) towels. Also, the key they gave me only worked 1 night even though I was booked for 2. The Frontage Road is one way west, so make sure you turn right when exiting. Also, you may have to do some circling to get going the right way to enter. Overall, I had a couple of good nights here, and I would stay here again.
The room was adequate, but outdated. There was mold around the bathtub edges against the wall. The tub surround was old & looked as if someone had attempted painting it. Holes around the plumbing under the counter sink were large, allowing for bugs & insects. The hot/cold water handles had been plumbed in reverse, with the hot water being controlled by the right-side handle & vice versa. The ice machine was out-of-order. Lastly, I was assessed a pet fee of $45, while the website clearly indicates a pet fee is $15. When I called to inquire about the excess charge to my credit card, I was told that because this motel is a franchise they do not have to honor the pet fee as shown on the website. It was never disclosed to me at check-in, either, when I walked in with my 12 pound Havapoo that the pet would be assessed a fee of $45. If a motel is using the website under the brand name of Choice Hotels, it should be required to honor the fees it advertises, regardless of whether or not it is a franchise. IMO, that is false advertising. Traveler, beware of this Quality Inn motel. It is not an honest establishment. I will search out other options for my travel through Abilene in the future. This trip was an 11-day road trip, due to a funeral, & no other establishments along the way assessed an undisclosed pet fee like this one.
Omg one of the gross places to stay. DON'T DO IT!!!!! 0 stars 2 of the pictures are me cleaning the room with washed clothes. Pictures on the website are not true. Very gross place. Beds had stains on sheets and hair. The pool was dirty. Mold was growing on the wall. The room smelled really bad.
I’m going to call this the No Quality Inn & Suites. My husband and I stayed here on the night of June 14, 2024. They charged me $113.85, for 2 people. The TV did not work. The telephone did not work. The air conditioner rattled all night. The toilet was so low to the ground, that you could barely get off of it. They were knocking on our door at 10:30 AM, I assume for us to leave. Check out was 11:00. I complained at the front desk. They did not apologize or offer a discount. The lady said sarcastically, You have a nice day, when I was leaving. Do not stay here and expect better. They are foreign people and they obviously do not care about their motels.
This hotel is located a few hundred yards from the freeway which is great if you have earplugs. The noise could be cut in half if the door actually had a seal around it and you couldn't put a book though it. The bathroom was filthy and the base of the toilet had obviously not been cleaned in a long time. We were given a handicapped room for some reason (even though the hotel was clearly not full) so the bathroom was large enough for a wheelchair but there was a bathtub. Not too sure how a person with mobility issues could get into a bathtub but there was a plastic chair for them if they did. The bathtub bottom was not clean nor were the walls and the shower did not work. Someone had put in a new tub spout but it did not have a lever so the shower head was useless. The toilet bottom was filthy with yellow crud all over the base. We brought this to the attention of the staff upon our check out and both ladies just looked at me as if to say " yah what do you want me to do about it ". The one lady huffed and wrote something down but it seemed like it was a lot for her to lift the pen. I got the feeling it was a bit over her pay grade to report things that needed to be fixed. We booked this place as it had a pool thinking after a 7 hour drive we could sit by the pool and enjoy a swim. But it was closed. On a positive there was a little weight room with three pieces of equipment and it was clean. There was also a small breakfast that was about a 6/10 that had eggs, bagels, waffles, sausage, cereal, yogurt and some apples. I would not recommend this hotel on several levels: cleanliness, pool closed, noise level and unfriendly attitude of some staff.
