Powder Hound Ski and Bike Shop

I was on a three week Alaska bicycle tour and I had stared in Anchorage and I was riding down to Seward and Homer and back around and unfortunately I left my air pump back in Anchorage but lucky for me this bike shop existed. I have to say that everyone in this bike shop was a pleasure to deal with. I was quickly shown the pumps they had and after settling on the one I wanted, the staff was fascinated with my bicycle and setup. They wish me well and off I was. I have to say this shop really creates a welcome environment and they know their craft. If you are around this area, go see this people and have a chat, they also pointed me out to a few places to go see and explore.

Amazing place! Helpful with MB routes in the area and extremely friendly and knowledgable staff. Amy and Asher I think we’re the ones helping us get some rentals for the day. Definitely have to go back and explore more. My husband’s bike had an electrical surge issue which he was able to fix, but the staff at PH was ready to make any amends for us to keep biking and have a great time. We got mountain e-bikes to get us from the different trails faster. We were able to do so much and even got a few souvenirs from their well stocked store. Hands down, best day in Girdwood thanks to Powder Hound!

In my experience it’s rare to find a shop as awesome as Powder Hound in a small mountain town. Eric and his staff treated us like old friends. We rented some bikes and bought a few items. Eric and his staff also gave us some great recommendations for trails to check out. The mountain bikes we rented were clean and well maintained and therefore reliable on our adventure. As another small business owner I’m really impressed with how they’re doing things here.

Great shop with knowledgeable and experienced staff. We had new boots fitted which was a great experience and we also had our skis tuned. I picked up my skis (which were needing some love from the low snow early season) and they looked like they had never left the shop! Absolute perfection!

An E-bike?!?! That's all they have to rent?? That was my initial thought. I have been on an E-bike before but I have never ripped one! This was a fantastic experience. No it wasn't super easy. The guys at the shop were very helpful in pointing me to the trails I would enjoy. I rode beaver pond trail, the blue line in the Nordic loop and winner extention. I was too early in the season to ride the down hill stuff but none the less I had a blast. Highly recommend!
