Terrible service by a grumpy staff behind the boston airport care rental counter. I was given a dirty red SUV car, and without any windscreen water or back number plate!! When I returned the car, I was surprise charged $125 on my amex card 2 months later (Feb 24) without any warning! I called them to ask what this was, and I was told there was sand in the car!!! Crooked. Avoid if you want a good fair service. I will never use them (and they're part of Avis Budget Group). My REF: was 1828925OUSO.

Avoid Payless car rental at all costs. They're a scummy service that only look to steal your money! They will push to add on optional insurance whether you like it or not, and don't be surprised if they tack on a ton more fees that you have no say in. I cancelled me reservation because I did not like what they were trying to do and they're still charging me for the reservation that I didn't even use! Spend a little extra and go with a reputable car rental company, avoid all the headache.

These negative reviews are legitimate. Unethical business practices abound with this rental car agency. Don't be lured by the low advertised rates and stick with a reputable agency.

Avoid this place at all cost. We picked up the car for the weekend, and when returning the car, we were charged almost double. Seems they are part of Avis - when haggling on the price, the person at the counter did not want to budge. His manager credited the difference. If renting, they will over charge you, and nickel and dime fees such as taxes, fees, and hidden charges (extra driver). Double check your online booking (orbitz, expedia) with the final bill and make sure to get an estimate before leaving the line. The Car was fine, new, but the return experience was horrible. If you want to make your flight, make sure to reserve 45 minutes to an hour to return your car. There was no porter in the lot, it was full, and you have to go back to the airport waiting location to receive your receipt. Not to mention, there will only be one service advisor at the lot. See my picture below - there is a sign saying to go into the airport, and return the car. So no one is getting the parked cars back into the lot. Horrible service, will not use them again. You pay for what you get.

DO NOT GO THROUGH THIS SERVICE. I thought I was making an economical choice, however, you will end up paying significantly more than if you go through another service. Online, I was quoted 220 for a 3 day rental with "unlimited miles". Upon the return and reading into the fine print that i was rushed through initially, we ended up paying over $420 due to hidden fees (not showing a receipt that we filled up the gas, paying per mile, and a fee for parking in their garage). the initial agent I tried to check in on was belittling, rude and unclear. The only redeeming factor of this service was the service member in the garage, she was great. again--i do not recommend, and will go elsewhere. This is the spirit airlines of car rentals.
