I've been using National for years and have never had a serious issue. I love skipping the rental counter and going straight to the Emerald aisle to choose my car. Recently I received great customer service. I rented a car in Boston and forgot to check the fuel level. I noticed it wasn't full while on route to our destination. I emailed National and requested the fuel level when it was returned so I didn't have to return it full. They emailed me back quickly and marked my rental "return empty" so I didn't need to fill it up. No hassle, no arguments, just great customer service. Well done National!
Excellent service from National at Logan airport, great choice or vehicles. We chose a brand new Durango, check out of the car was quick and return very easy. Have been using national for each trip overseas and very rarely disappointed.
Love working with these guys. Clean, good cars with lots of selections. My last rental was in a city with toll roads. Rental car has pass mounted on windshield, quite convenient. The billing is handled by a 3rd party, was billed $12.50 in tolls and $24.75 in Service Charges. Next time I'll just drive through the "cash" booths. Convenience is nice, but not 2X nice.
My most recent rental was in Boston Logan. With one of the main tunnels closed in the area, it took me almost 2 hours to go 8 miles. Therefore, I did not have enough time to gas up the car, and barely made my flight. The National Rep at the Rental Center fully understood the issue I experienced and waived the gas cost for me, which was just terrific. Whenever I can, I will always rent with National. It is a consistently good experience and this was beyond exceptional.
Pros: the cars were in good condition and clean. I enjoyed being able to select a car from a range of options. Checkout was a breeze and the employees I interacted with were professional and courteous. Cons: after I returned the car, I looked at my receipt as I was rushing to the airport shuttle. I noticed that I was charged more than double the rate arranged at booking. I went to the customer service line and the person corrected the issue but there were others in front of me and I almost missed my flight while trying to correct this issue.
