Mountaintop Lodge at Lake Naomi
What people are saying
Had a wonderful and relaxing stay at Mountaintop during our large family reunion. The lodge itself is roomy and beautiful. Breakfast served each morning was delicious. Hubby and I stayed in cabin #1 (The Pines). Very clean, comfy, and quiet. The bedding was luxurious and I never slept better. Carolyn, our Innkeeper, was an absolute gem. So kind and accommodating towards our large family's needs. She went above and beyond and definitely exceeded every expectation. Highly recommend the backyard bbq for one of your evenings. Delicious! Lots of amenities and activities for all ages. Highly recommend this place!
I had an amazing experience here and am hoping to return again soon. Every single person I spoke with was helpful, friendly and accommodating- the service was absolutely above and beyond! Special thanks to Carolyn who made my trip perfect with every little detail taken care of. Our room was so charming, clean and comfortable. Loved our Midnight Munchies basket! Every last touch was thoughtful and complete. The breakfast, which is included, is truly so good! Homemade full breakfast with great choices on the menu. We left feeling so happy and full! Location was great; private, lovely and filled with lots of extras. I highly recommend coming to stay here!
We spent a wonderful four nights and three days here. Staying at the Mountaintop Lodge at Lake Naomi gives you full club privileges to the Lake Naomi Club. More about that at the end of the review. The lodge itself is extremely well maintained and run. Our room was the smallest in the lodge but we knew that when we rented it. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and in all it was a good stay. Now for the relevant part. The included breakfasts were amazing. Everything was prepared to order. This included choices of several types of eggs, breakfast meats, hash browns, and optional fruit bowl. They also offered gluten-free pancakes and gluten-free bagels. They are extremely knowledgeable about cross-contamination and very careful. The bagel was beautifully toasted on a “sizzling pan” in the oven. Orange juice was provided in a carafe on the table as well as water. Coffee was served in an insulated carafe, both regular and/or decaf. If you're a coffee fan, they also operate a takeout area for sandwiches and lunches and several kinds of coffee. As a guest at the Mountaintop Lodge you can get coffee all day at any time they are open. The staff was welcoming and our stay was very comfortable. Now on to the Lake Naomi Club. This place was unbelievable. They have about five separate swimming pools, one of them indoors. They have several beaches on a large, beautiful, private lake. There is a community center included which houses the indoor pool, jacuzzi and steam and sauna. It also has old school table games like air hockey, ping pong and fussball. Gluten-free food is available at many locations including fries (dedicated fryers), buns and pizza (separate oven). Staff was knowledgeable. Did not get sick the whole time!
Unfortunately due to random bad luck the room we booked was flooded the day we were to arrive. Carolyn is a true blessing and not only provided us with new accommodations elsewhere, she made sure we wouldn't be charged more, that we still had all the amenities of the Mountaintop Lodge, and most importantly that the new place was wheelchair friendly for me! She went above and beyond. The breakfast each morning was delicious, there is nothing else to say about it. We tried a variety of things and it was all extremely yummy! Donna was also extremely wonderful. The third day of our stay she had a birthday card on the table for me with the sweetest message and set our table up so we could eat with a gorgeous view of the trees! Truth be told, every lady working there was delightful, I just didn't catch anyone's names other than Donna and Carolyn! Lastly, the decor, scenery, and location were wonderful. The whole place was so rustic and cozy. It felt like a place where things were a little slower, a little more simple, and a lot less hectic. The perfect place to sit outside and enjoy a coffee. Before we left we got to peek at one of the rooms that was similar but a little smaller than the room we were supposed to have and all I can say is that we can't wait to come back and actually stay!
My husband and I stayed here last weekend and unfortunately did not have a good experience. In summary: PROS: - Carolyn, the innkeeper, is super sweet - The room was cute, clean, and well-appointed. - Coffee and breakfast were good - Located very close to Lake Naomi CONS: - The Spring room is on the road-side of the hotel and road noise was very loud overnight. (Carolyn agreed to move us to a different room, which was very appreciated!) - Housekeeping staff was rude to us when we went to change rooms. We could hear them yelling in the hallway that they're sick of doing room changes. Hopefully this was an isolated incident and the staff member was just having a bad day. In any case, it definitely put a damper on our weekend.
