Low rating due to TERRIBLE service. Slow to take order. Drinks only arrived AFTER entrees?? Slow to bring bill. Food was quite good, frustrating service.
We had breakfast during The Stroll and it was OK. The day prior we inquired about making breakfast reservations and were told they do not accept them. We arrived at opening time the following day to be sure we could be seated and were immediately asked, “Do you have a reservation?” ??!! Once seated we ordered drinks and then several minutes later, our food. My wife asked for her eggs over easy and was bit disappointed when the server told my wife that eggs are cooked to only one temperature, not to customer’s individual requests. Our food was good, but the service was disappointing. Food came out well before our drinks. I can understand mine taking a bit longer as I added bacon and a mini cheeseburger to my bloody mary (yes, these are options!), but my wife ordered a mimosa and hers came out only just before mine. When my drink arrived the server brought a full plate of bacon, not the slice added to my drink as I ordered. She then proceeds to tell me how mad the kitchen is that she brought it to my table and how could I have not helped her figure out that it was wrong. I didn’t know what to do with that statement. Was she planning on taking it back and serve it to others? I’m sure we will give it another try next Stroll, as the food and drinks were good. Service needs improvement and hopefully it gets the attention it deserves.
Last year the chowder was fantastic. Today it was worse than the cheapest canned soup I've ever had. My wife's chopped salad was excellent but way overpriced. The service was excellent and very friendly – the only thing that saved the meal.
My parents and I went her for breakfast. I had the loaded fries (fries, hamburger meat, cheese with a fried egg on top) and it was the best, bad for me, breakfast ever! It was so delicious and kept me full the rest of the day. The atmosphere in the restaurant is also adorable! Although my experience would rate 5 stars, I'm taking my parents opinions into account. They had the huevos rancheros and 2 eggs plate. They said theirs was good, but they weren't as over the moon about their dishes as I was. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is wanting a sit down breakfast in Nantucket.
Could use a few more beer choices and how come bourbon drinks seem to be lacking in most Nantucket restaurant menus (vodka drinks dominate)? But the food here is very good. Try the sizzling rice bowl.
