What a cute little hotel!! Southern charm at its finest. The employees were amazing! JD was awesome! Took time out after she had worked all night to show us the Paula Dean house and tell us about the history. The The free roaming chickens were an absolute delight. If you are looking for a fully updated, completely modern hotel, this is not for you. If you love the southern charm, want a clean room, and amazing hospitality this hotel is for you.

Extremely accommodating staff!!! We had reservations for 2 nights for 4 people running the Albany Marathon..... Oops reservation was for the wrong weekend and they were fully booked. After my attempting to find accommodations somewhere else in the area (all also fully booked) they somehow were able to make it work for us. For them, their understanding, compassion, their hard work at making miracles happen.... I am/we are forever grateful!!! Thank you all. Room was perfect, breakfast was much appreciated, the pub later that evening was perfect for a fun girls race weekend. Thank you everyone!! Highly recommend staying here!!

We have stayed at Merry Acres Inn numerous time over the last two years. They were not always the cleanest but it was quiet and great when you are traveling with a pet. A month ago when we stayed there I used my debit card and the next day I was getting alerts from my bank for at least two large fraudulent charges. Cancel my card and called merry acres I was told they would look into it. Recently we said we would try again. Made reservations and when we arrived they had gone up on the price by thirty dollars. Could not give me an explanation nor seem to care. I tried to play with cash and they would not except it. I explained why and they said they had had a lot of fraudulent charges come up because of some other business which had the same name and creating the problem. Said they even called the place and asked them to quit!! So they are taking payment on by debit or credit cards and letting the customer deal with the consequences. When we entered our room we found thick dust in the lamps. Nothing particularly clean and all kind of hair on the bathroom floor. ALL KINDS. This was the last straw. Everything is run down and I’m not sure that the bed was even clean. We will not be going back.

From the photos online, this “inn” looks very cute. When you pull up, you will find that it is basically a motel in between two shopping centers which, by the time you drive to your room, you’re basically in the shopping centers parking lot. When you walk into your room, you will be greeted by bugs! There were fruit flies flying around everywhere. In your room, in the common areas, even in the ice cubes from the ice machine!! Quite literally frozen in the cubes. When I went to brush my teeth, there was even a bug in my toothbrush. The tub floor was not clean/was stained with brown rust. The shower water is near impossible to get to a comfortable temperature and it will change randomly. The toilet was broken and constantly ran and the handle to flush would just swing around. A couple doors down, there was a lawn chair outside of a room making it appear that someone was living there. Nobody had replaced or taken out the trash in the common areas. There were no poop bags for dogs so there was just dog poop out and about. The chickens didn’t really bother us, we thought they were silly. But they were loud. If I had a child or baby, I would definitely refrain from staying here for all of these reasons, especially not wanting to have my child woken up by a rooster. The walls are super thin, you can hear peoples conversations in the next room, and the people next to us kept throwing heavy stuff against the wall (idk why). The doors, you have to literally slam shut because they will not shut easily. This will wake your next door neighbor up. Most of the staff was nice. As a woman traveling, I felt fine but i definitely had to keep an eye out. Overall, I would never stay here again. It was gross, bugs everywhere and the shower was yucky.
