Lido House, Autograph Collection
What people are saying
I recently stayed at Lido House in Newport and had a generally positive experience. The hotel itself is lovely and offers great amenities. However, I did have a couple of issues during my stay. The soundproofing could be improved, as I could hear the people in the room above me quite clearly, and it seemed like their kids were jumping around, which was a bit disruptive. Additionally, the pool was quite active until 10 pm, which made it a bit challenging to get the rest I needed for my business trip. Despite these minor inconveniences, I was very happy with my stay overall. The ambiance and service were excellent, and I would definitely consider coming back, hopefully with a quieter room next time.
Spent a long weekend at the Lido house for a birthday. From the outside the hotel has some very high end finishings. The lobby has a replica scale model of John Wayne's boat. Kinda neat. My experience here would be a four star, however this hotels room prices are exceedingly higher than normal. It advertises itself as a high end hotel so I expected high end expectations. Our room was nice, albeit the melamine fixtures have started to seriously chip and wear away, leaving bare wood. We soon discovered that this high end hotel is right next to the main road for getting into and out of Newport Beach. As our room faced the street we were subject bikers and other morons unnecessarily revving their engines at 2am. Upon using the bathroom we discovered that the bathroom lock had been destroyed. Thankfully the door still closed. However the worst part was the human excretions found dried on our bathroom wall. After reporting it to management we were assured our room would be spotless when we got back from dinner and a $50 room service voucher would be added to our bill. I thought that was more than fair. As we came back we discovered that the room had not been cleaned. We ended up cleaning it ourselves less we accidentally touch it as it's right at arm level and my wife has OCD. And to top it all off our $50 credit for room service mysteriously disappeared upon checkout, so the breakfast we thought was comped wasn't. Safe to say we will not be returning.
Stopped in over the weekend to check out the hotel for a future stay, as it looked like a lovely place to stay for our Anniversary in February. Decided to have a drink in the rooftop Topsail bar and discovered this establishment was not for us. The staff seemed nice enough at first but they seated us in full sun on a 90 degree day. After placing a drink order we attempted to move to a nearby empty table in the shade but was told it was "reserved". No offer was made to seat us in the shade, so I suggested to my husband we just leave. We settled up for drinks we didn't drink and hummus we didn't even get to see and left. Needless to say, I'll find another place for our anniversary celebration.
Two words; New and Port. Be prepared to spend $$. Good Lobster rolls 4 the adults ($26)and good chicken and fries for the kids. Cabana is worth it (again, $$$) & service was good. Parking is out front for two hours if u have guests (just re-up as new car for more time). Easy walk to shops and 32nd street sand. I know, I know, romantic and “kid friendly” don’t usually go together😳🕺💌🤣🐬🌹👨🎤 This plays pulls it off nicely.
Amazing stay at the Lido House! The nautical decor is awesome, it is modern but cozy with all the nautical feels. The staff is wonderful- friendly, attentive and accommodating. Our room was beautiful with more nautical themes. We had a great view of the pool and a balcony to relax on! The best part was that’s walking distance to the village. The restaurant in hotel is delicious with amazing decor. I recommend this hotel!
