La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Amarillo Mid-City

Picked this place as it was conveniently placed next to a restaurant we were meeting family at. Picked the king suite as I knew it had a couch and I was needing one for my son. Love how open the room was, the French doors between the bedroom and living area was very well put together. The downside was they only had those on the 2nd floor and there is no elevator so that made it a bit frustrating. The room it self was very beautiful but I could clearly hear the freeway traffic which was just a minor nuisance. The staff was very polite and the breakfast they include was pretty delicious. Aside from some minor nuisance, this was a great stay. Thank you! I'm glad this was our mid way stop on our cross country journey home
This is an older hotel with some upgrades to the rooms. However the wiring is faulty.. the TV & Lamp would not come on. We left the switch on and both turned on in the middle of the night. It’s right on the interstate but not sure the Neighborhood is the best location. We heard what sounded like a gun shot in the middle of the night. There are 3 buildings to this establishment. They offer continental breakfast but warning they have 3 tables to accommodate 3 buildings. Choices are very limited. Probably wouldn’t stay here again but when it’s late choices are limited in the area.
The rooms were very nice and we checked in after 1am and was told there was breakfast being served in the morning til 10am. So my kids and I went down stairs to eat breakfast at 9:10am and the front desk man was very rude and said We were late and breakfast will be put up at 9:30 and would not let my children grab a muffin to eat. Very poor front desk man. The woman was so sweet the night we checked in. I do not recommend this hotel for your family.
We always have to stay in Amarillo on the way back since is half way. Service was great and very friendly. Hotel exterior is run down but the room is very clean. The only thing is the AC wind keep blowing into the bed directly. So you have to have a pillow block the wind blowing into your face. Breakfast was good but the waffle have to wait a long time since there is so many people on it. Overall it was a nice stay. We will be back!!!
Stayed overnight on a cross country trip. Room was clean and large. Decent breakfast. Location was perfect, right off the interstate. My husband's only complaint was our room did not have blackout curtains. Would not hesitate to stay here again
