Kohinoor Dhaba
What people are saying
During our visit, the restaurant was not crowded, with only a few people present. We ordered other dishes including chicken soup, which unfortunately took a rather long time, approximately 30-40 minutes, to arrive at our table. While the server was polite and the establishment appeared clean, I must admit that the soup did not meet my expectations. I found it to be lacking in taste and quality. Moreover, I personally felt that the food at Kohinoor Dhaba did not truly embody the authentic flavors of Indian cuisine. The dishes, including the biryani we ordered for takeout, did not live up to the standards I would expect from traditional Indian cuisine. Despite these observations, I would like to emphasize that the service at Kohinoor Dhaba was commendable, with polite and attentive staff member. The cleanliness of the restaurant also deserves recognition.
We were here for dinner and we are vegetarians. Menu does have vegetarian and vegan options. Sitting area is basic and adequate. We sat in the smaller room near wash-basin. Server was pleasant. We ordered mix veg, Kadai paneer and chapati and garlic naan. Kadai paneer had too much oil in it and the veggies ( onion and capsicum were more raw than cooked), mix veg here had huge chunks of potatoes that were uncooked and it had corns & beans! I never had eaten a mix veg with that combination. Naan were okay, it was soft and fluffy, chapatis were good. Portion size was apt. They had clean restrooms. Their free parking lot can accommodate 10-12 cars and free street parking nearby is also available.
Facilities - Watch you don’t bang your head entering the sit down area of the restaurant. I visited Mar 24, the restroom was backed up. Food - dishes served here are not authentic. We ordered Lamb Roganjosh, we were served a yellow thick gravy based lamb dish on the sweetish side. Our second order was for a Dal Makhani we were served a dal with mixed lentils akin to ‘Maa ki Dal’. So beware of what you order. Not recommended.
We tried naan . Aloo paratha, lassi, mango lassi, chicken karahi . Lassi was super yummy. Chicken pakora was ok but little salty. Aloo paratha was soft and yummy. Naan was super yummy and soft. They also had tea.
We went there late at night - around 10 pm so found space to park in the limited restaurant parking. The service was good. There are two rooms downstairs. We sat in the smaller one with a wash basin. Food arrived 15 mins or so. Food wasn’t good. Paneer Kadhai had too much oil in it and mixed vegetable had potatoes not cooked well enough. The food doesn’t meet the Indian cuisine standards by a large margin.
