I want to say THANK YOU to the floral and bakery departments for their “above and beyond” customer service. I live in Memphis and ordered items for a family member’s surprise birthday party to be held locally. There were some issues with the balloons… and the floral department delivered our replacement order in time for the party. The floral department employee even drove their own vehicle to the location. The bakery department hit a home run with the cake orders for the party as well. Beautifully decorated cakes and delicious. I’ve always been a huge fan of Hy-Vee and that will only continue. Thank you and please bring Hy-Vee to Memphis.

I like this supermarket but their healthy options are more expensive than natural grocers. Also, they barely use their self check out and you're lucky if there's a register available. I go there for their sushi and great variety of yogurts.

Today I was shopping with a friend and my daughter. We were using the shopping cart that is a pink race car. My stuff was in the bottom compartment and my friends in the top. There were literally 2 registers open to be checked out by an employee but we didn’t have many items so we went to the self check. Half of the self check out registers were closed but as we approach an empty register the hyvee attendant for self check out RUSHED over to me and said “15 items or less ONLY!” I then explained that we were two separate transactions just sharing one cart. I then begin to ring up my items only and she interrupts by GRABBING the cart that my daughter was in saying I needed to move it over(which is fine, but considering my child was inside of the cart I found it inappropriate for her to put herself in between myself and my child without asking). The attendant then proceeded to hover over me as I scanned my items so I started counting them out loud as I rang them in and placed them into the bagging area. 11 items. As I was putting an item in the bagging area the attendant then asked “did you ring in all of your items?” I paused.. looked at her and said “yes.” I went to put my card into the card reader and she frantically asked if I had scanned the kids juice my kid was now taking a drink of. I replied “yes if you would like to look at my receipt once I’m done feel free”. She then walked away from us (finally). I am a reasonable person. I understand that she was likely doing as asked by her superiors and company as a whole. I’m aware of loss prevention techniques and that employees are trained to deter theft. BUT HER EXECUTION AND HOW SHE MADE ME LOOK TO OTHER SHOPPERS was nothing short of embarrassing and harassment. She’s lucky I didn’t just leave all the items right there at check out and walked out. I won’t be shopping at this location again.

Nice clean store with a decent number of self-checkouts. I like shopping here and picking up just a few things on my way home from work. However, for most of my grocery shopping, Walmart and Aldi's is a better option because of the much better prices. Hy-Vee has some of the same products for $2 to $4 more. It would be nice if they price matched.

I get pretty uncomfortable here and it's hard to focus on shopping. I'm a black woman so I guess it's completely okay for Hy-Vee employees to follow me all throughout the store and watch my every move. I come here because it's conveniently close to UNI. But I'm starting to think I should just spend the extra time and gas and shop somewhere else. I'm sure that would make them happy as well.
