Hugh Ramsey Nature Park
What people are saying
A lovely magical place. The air here smells divine. A diverse collection of wildlife, plants, even a sensory garden. My family and I love to explore nature and have been all over Texas, NM, VA and AZ, this is one of the most lovely spots we have been in. I love the colors here, the vibrancy of green and the stillness. Come, lose yourself awhile in nature.
Nice for a shorter walk, just to stretch your legs. You can catch different birds, turtles, and rabbits most of the time. They have some benches and viewing areas. Bug spray is recommended at all times. Admission is free, a sign with a map at the entrance shows you trails and distances. Parking is good, easy walking, but as mentioned before some areas have broken glass.
This is a nice park, but it is in despair and looks neglected in many areas. There were many interesting birds in the water area's.
Honestly I knew the nature park was around , but never took the time to explore it. Someone invited me and let me tell you I was surprised on how beautiful and peaceful it was ! It is definitely worth going to visit and explore, you won’t be disappointed!
Unbelievably, this biodiverse space was once Harlingen's dumping ground. Now rehabilitated thanks to the Texas Master Naturalists of the Lower RGV, this place is now a rich place of encounter. This is one of the most beautiful and inspirational places to visit in Harlingen.
