I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn in Calexico and had an extremely disappointing experience, especially considering the exorbitant price of over $200 for a single night. From the moment we checked in, it was clear that customer satisfaction was not a priority. We specifically requested a room far from the ongoing construction, but were inexplicably placed right next to it. The construction noise began at 7:30 AM sharp, making it impossible to sleep or relax. The constant hammering and drilling were unbearable. For the price we paid, we expected at least a basic level of comfort and consideration, but instead, we got a sleepless and stressful stay. Even though our room was remodeled, it was clear that the job was poorly done. The bathroom tub and shower were cracked, with mold visibly growing around them. This lack of attention to detail and cleanliness is unacceptable, especially at such a high rate. To top it off, the breakfast provided was a joke. It consisted of a cold sandwich, some fruit, and cheap juice, all packed in a paper bag. After eating it, I ended up with diarrhea, which made an already miserable stay even worse. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially given the high rates and complete disregard for guest comfort. Save your money and stay elsewhere.
While I understand the hotel is under renovation, many of the hallways were dirty with trash. I stay in Holiday Inns when I travel, and this is the first one that has been this terrible. There was loud noises starting at 7am and until 7pm. I got zero rest and the hotel didn’t even offer us a discount for not letting us know it was under renovation. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at for that price
Under renovation, but comfortable. The room is perfect to get some sleep. The internet is a little slower than I thought but works for the usual. The room amenities were perfect for what I needed.
Was a great few days stay although they are renovating it was still very relaxing. Ingrid At the front desk was awesome and very helpful. Christian with house keeping was very nice and polite. All in all A+++
Holiday Inn Calexico is the worst Holiday Inn Express in the World for the service, the room quality and the management. IHG member, I booked one room with two double beds through the IHG website for my family travel with my wife and two kids. When I arrived on Feb 15 at 9pm, the front desk stafff told me that the rooms were over booked and I had to book a room of other hotel by myself. This staff did not offer any alternative solution. I had some experiences of over-booking. But, usually, the hotel tries to help their guests to find solutions. Hovever, the Holiday Inn Calexico did not help the guests facing over booking matter. In addition, the front desk offered the room to other guests who arrived after me. I became angry and I began to complain strongly. Finally the frontdesk staff told me that she had a cancellation suddenly and she could give me a room. I do not trust what she said. Probably she had a room. And also probably, she preserved a room for other guests. We are not white family. After she refused to give us a room due to over booking, she offered a room for the white guest with big smile. This hotel's room condition was horrible. The bathtub was broken. At the moment of check-out from this hotel on Feb 16, I asked the frontdesk staff to call the manager for the complaint. But the manager was not there. I gave my contact infomation to the front desk staff in order to talk to manager about this matter. After my request, I did not have any phonecall from them If possible, please avoid this hotel.
