I recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Tampa Airport and was quite disappointed with my experience. Despite its convenient location near the airport, the hotel fell short in several key areas. I am assuming that many of these reviews are not from people who stayed here. Firstly, the size of the rooms was a major letdown. The rooms felt cramped and lacked sufficient space to move around comfortably. For a hotel that caters to business travelers and families alike, the limited space was quite surprising and inconvenient. It was challenging to find a spot for my luggage without feeling cluttered. Additionally, the age of the property was evident throughout my stay. The decor and furnishings appeared outdated and in need of a refresh. The carpets were worn, and the overall ambiance felt tired and in need of modernization. This detracted significantly from the overall experience, making the stay less enjoyable. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and accommodating, and the proximity to the airport was convenient for early flights. However, these positives were overshadowed by the room size and the dated feel of the property. For the price, I expected a more comfortable and modern stay. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel and would suggest looking for other options in the area.
This was an interesting one to review - location wise, it was EXCELLENT for our needs. We always stay a night in Tampa after flying in late from the West Coast before journeying south for our vacation on the islands. The hotel was listed as a 3.5 star on the Hilton website, we didn't expect it to be upscale, but it just came off as older and a bit dingy. Travelling as much as I have for work, I expected better of a 3.5 star. For it's purpose, the room did it's job. A nice TV. A nice shower. But - there was a dirty was cloth in the shower from the previous guest and used candy wrappers inside of the sheets of both beds which made us wonder if they were actually washed and how deep the shower cleanings were. Positives - check out was not until noon which allowed us to stay in a bit longer due to how late we arrived in Tampa. Front desk service was fantastic. Location right outside the airport as well.
My family and I always stay at Hilton locations and never have had any issues. This was our first time staying at this specific location and it truly deserves 5 stays for excellent customer. Ahmad at the front desk went above and beyond with his amazing customer service. I had requested a baby playpen and by the time the time we got to the room, the playpen, extra pillow, and sheets beat us to the room. We walked into the room which smelled amazing and clean. He also left us a breakfast coupon as friendly gesture which was greatly appreciated. Thank you very much Ahmad and the entire Hilton staff. You never fail to impress and that is why I am always a returning customer.
The hotel is an older hotel that could be updated. It was clean and perfect for our late night flight in stay before we head to the beach for the week! When booking a heads up their breakfast is not free it’s $16 per person which was very frustrating to us. The buffet quality was very poor. Honestly the Homewood suites or Hyatt house would be where we would stay if we had a choice. They’re newer and have a free breakfast!
Nice hotel, very quiet. Next to a couple of restaurants and easy access to the highways and spots like the malls and Raymond James. The beds were very comfortable and the shower warmed up quick. Only thing was the conditioner was out when we got there. I didn't get to use the pool since it was a quick stay, but the grounds seemed nice and check in/check out was easy. Garage is covered which is also nice as it obviously gets pretty hot in Florida.
