Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix Airport North
What people are saying
Stayed here when my flight was delayed. Room itself was just OK. The view outside my window was of a concrete wall and nothing else, but there was a family of pigeons that were entertaining. While the room was clean, it was definitely old and could use some upgrades. Not terrible though, especially since it was paid for by the airlines. The staff was very kind and helpful, however. The lady at the desk helped make sure I was signed up for an airport shuttle and the restaurant staff was very nice too. Food was good. Room was quiet and like I said everything was very clean. Definitely not a high end resort style hotel, but everything you need if your flight was canceled last minute and need a place to stay for the night!
We stayed here for one night, and even though we checked in very late it was such a disappointing stay. The hotel was VERY hot in the hallways and the elevators were under construction making it take forever to get an elevator just find it they were extremely small, and it took 2-3 elevators to get our party to the floor we were on(6 people, 2 children) The rooms AC was fine, but not very cold like you would expect for this hotel being in Phoenix, AZ. The beds were very uncomfortable and the blankets were itchy. The pillows very comfortable tho. The water pressure left much to be desired and one of the faucets in the room were installed incorrectly and it looked funky. The mirror closet door was broke and leaning and the night table lamp was very difficult to turn on, as the button kept getting stuck. We definitely had higher expectations as this was a Hilton property, especially located near the airport. Thankfully, we only needed this room for the night and not extended stay or even 2 days. If we would've needed this for for 2 or more nights, we would've definitely checked out and found another hotel for sure. We in fact were considering our stay, even called the hotel (prior to checking in) and asked if we decided to if we could extend, but as soon as we saw the state of this hotel, and the PRICES of all the snacks/ food/ buffet, we definitely knew right then we wouldn't be. Very disappointed, and definitely won't be back. .
There wasn't a selection for common areas. The rooms were actually pretty good furniture was a little worn. The bathroom was newly renovated though. I thought the common areas were looking pretty worn. The service was fine. Not a bad place to stay near the airport.
Of all the Hilton family hotels I've stayed at this one was well behind the others. Being advertised at the airport I thought it would be kind of luxurious... But it's just outside the airport in an industrial - commercial area. Then there is no free buffet or anything like that. Only morning coffee was no charge. That includes a diamond member as I am. Received nothing special but a bottle of water and a parking space at the rear of the building. We pre-booked one night because we knew our flight would come in very late from Florida. So we decided to book the room for one night and then head to the relatives home well outside Phoenix the next morning after a night's rest following a long flight. Sorry Hilton... I'm a big fan... But not this location.
The hotel experience was good. Clean rooms, convenient location. However, I have had an absolute NIGHTMARE of a time getting a receipt for my stay. I travel for work often and never seem to have issues, but I have called 6 times (yes, 6) and have gotten extreme attitude from the staff. I have tried different email addresses, reached out to chat support online who stated the hotel has not finalized my receipt, and still do not have a copy and am told someone will reach out within 5 days. The front desk staff member was extremely rude and belittling and refused to help further. Terrible customer service. Hilton - if you see this, can someone send me my receipt? That is all I am asking here and this review is my last effort.
