The hotel is in good shape, rooms could be updated but no real issues. I’m confident this is the best hotel in the area. The staff is really great - helpful and polite. Ms. Sandra at the front desk was especially helpful and accommodating.
Good clean rooms. Nothing too special about them. They have a coffee maker, a mini fridge, which is nice. In an area that doesn't have a lot of options, this would be where I stay again. The bar/grill in the lobby has awesome bar tenders with a large selection of drinks and some of the best hotel food I have ever had. If I lived in the area, I would stop in just to eat here! The wings are bomb, the burgers are great, and they are followed by delicious desert and drinks. This honestly is the selling point of staying there for me. The same grill is back at it in the morning with an awesome breakfast. The grits are top-notch! Great omelets and service. This is truly a hidden Gem!
Public areas are really nice. People are top notch. Rooms are spartan, almost bare, worn surfaces, so-so coffee pods, sheets that don't fit the bed, but clean. Bed is fairly comfortable. Restaurant was good in the evening, waitress/bartender was terrific. Restaurant in the morning had good people but pancakes were not good. I chose this hotel because it is across the street from two parks but both were closed due to flooding, oh well--maybe next time.
If you are going to the Albany civic center this is the place to stay! It’s literally right across the street from it made the concert experience so much nicer. There is a brewery right down the street and everything is in walking distance. Room was huge and lavish. Comfort. I stayed alone and felt secure and safe.
Driving 16 hrs to get to a loved one in critical condition. Stopped here to rest for a few hours but they said they could not check us in because it was too late to check in for now and too early to check in for the day...makes no sense. We were paying for a full night even though we knew it would only be a few hours. Won't ever stop at one of these again.
