Due to bad weather, there were a major shortage of available rental cars across southern FL. After the cruise, we have waited for more than 4 hours to get my car. So you say, why 5-stars? Well, these stars belongs to the staff at the front desk. The situation is not in their control. It should be the corporate office that needs to respond to the tactical situation in a more macro scale. The staff at this location deal with the 30+angry customers very well. They stay calm and try their best to help. If there's a 6 stars, I will give them that.
The wait at this place is absolutely ridiculous. Every time I come here. Same story every time. 2 people in line in front of me 3 workers and still been here 45 min. Apparently there’s no cross training. Trust me. Go elsewhere.
We waited in line for almost 3 hours, but once we were finally able to get to the counter, our representative was very attentive, quick, helpful and in a good mood despite the chaos and the amount of customers getting angry. And we got a very nice car. The level of customer service definitely made up for the waiting time.
Waited almost two hours in a line with about 10 customers in front of me in the line. Gold members had no benefit and no advance car assignment. Their service staff spent average of 20+ minutes for each customer. They tried to blame car shortage but apparently certain types of vehicles were available and most customers did get their cars. The delay was in fact mostly due to their lengthy and cumbersome check in process. Some of their staff apparently wasn't very familiar with the system, having to ask colleague's help for every transaction. Dispatch is also disorganized - their staff had to leave the counter into the garage to locate the rental vehicle and drive to the front before the customer could go pick up, adding another big delay to the already long check in process. On top of that, they even billed me more than my original reservation amount. Had I asked for correction I would be sure another 20-30 minutes of delay. I surrender my money. Thank you very much. Will definitely avoid this location given the FLL airport rental is just minutes away.
30+ customers in line, all handled by 2 open counters. The waiting times can get ridiculous, but I have to say, that the 2 staff members that were taking in customers, were doing their best to remain calm and polite. Some got brand new cars, I had to wait +30 minutes so that they could find a car for me (booked 2 months in advance), after queuing for another 45 mins. The people behind me must have totaled over 2 hours between walking in and driving off. As a returning Hertz customer, it's disappointing to be kept waiting that long, when other counters were there, but they were not operational, and given the amount of reservations made, an increased flow in customers was predictable.
