We accidentally left our National Park pass hanging from our rental's rearview mirror and these folks went above and beyond to not only track it down but also ship it back to us. They were very kind and we really appreciate the amazing customer service!

Using this Hertz location had left me stranded on Saturday August 15th at the ACV Airport for 2 days without a rental car. Five weeks prior to my arrival I had reserved a rental car with Hertz for Saturday pick up. After three flights of travel with two layovers, we were tired and groggy and then discovered that the Hertz has not been open on weekends since March. The airport informed me they have not had rental car weekend pickup since March as all agencies have been closed on the weekends. Hertz allowed me to make a reservation for a Saturday pick up at an airport that has no Saturday or Sunday rental car hours. They had 5 weeks to notify me of their error and chose not to. The airport and surrounding towns for 120 Miles had absolutely no rental car agencies open the entire weekend. This not only left me stranded, but ruined two days of my family vacation.. I received multiple confirmations from HERTZ, including 1 email 2 days prior to my arrival that included my Saturday pick up that showed their hours Sat and Sun open 9am -5pm. I do not understand how this could happen, and I am sure Hertz cannot understand the inconvenience, stress, and tears you placed upon my family vacation. They should never have allowed me to reserve this car, and someone should have notified me of this error immediately so I could cancel my travel plans. They truly do not care about their customers. Our family vacation was planned for months and we had it based around visiting several national parks. Our intentions were to have a rental car that would allow us to travel Sunday to Crescent City for a bike and rafting trip, and Monday to another town for a biking trip. Both of these had to be canceled The lost time I will never get back, and a trip of a lifetime has been cut short due to Hertz's incompetence and lack of communication. Being tired and stranded I ultimately found a cab serviced from a small neighboring town and made a plan that would allow us to be taken to a U-Haul agency. I was able to rent a U-Haul. The cab ride was not cheap, and neither was the U-Haul. Both of these expenses should never have been incurred. At $0.80 a mile we did not proceed with our scheduled plans on Sundays as we had 200+ miles to drive And Monday, two days after your reservation that did not actually exist… the rental agency finally did open, we had to drive back to the airport pick up a rental car, then drive to the U-Haul return that, and then drive to a different Hertz location to actually speak to a manager. We missed our entire excursion on Monday. The Hertz manager was very defensive and made many excuses, and I really do not understand how this error could happen and no ownership would be taken. I was given the excuse multiple times that they did not have my email on file, even after I presented multiple printed emails from Hertz sent to me. The manager told me she was tired of hearing complaints every Monday, as they continue to book rental cars on weekends that do not actually exist. I was also told they TRY to call all the reservations one week prior to notify them they were not open. They didn’t try very hard with me, actually they didn’t try at all. I don’t understand why they would not just cancel the reservation. Or better yet, never allow us to make a reservation. I called Hertz 1-800 number and they also never apologized and told me there must be an issue with my web browser. What horrible people, horrible company, horrible culture, and I do not know how they sleep at night.

I booked a car through Expedia with Hertz at the Eureka (CA) airport location for last Sunday, Aug 16. When I arrived at the airport, the Hertz location was closed. I was then informed that the location is closed every weekend. Because Uber and Lyft was not available in order to get me to my destination (Brookings, Oregon), I had to order a taxi. Although Hertz let me make a reservation for a car at a location that is not even open on Sundays, Hertz will not reimburse me for my taxi fare. Instead they are telling me to contact Expedia, and Expedia is telling me to contact Hertz. I am confused and simply shocked that Hertz would let me make a reservation for a car for a location that is not even open... and Hertz' failure to provide accurate information of location ended up leaving me stranded somewhere that I don't even know. I usually didn't have any problems with Hertz in the past and shocked that they would allow this practice.

The Hertz corporation is a joke I rented from them 3 months ago and have been trying since then to get a refund I returned my vehicle 5 days early and never received the proper reimbursement. the employees in the store just give you that deer in the headlights look anytime you ask any serious questions and will tell you you have to call the headquarters. They will put you on hold for hours and will do everything they can to keep your money. Do yourself a favor and pay the extra money and go to Enterprise. Hertz charges less because there shady and will rip you off any chance they get.

If I could give zero stars I would gladly. Hertz at this airport doesn't think it's important to stay open when one has a rental car there paid for and waiting. They think it's important to leave early and leave person stuck in an airport 350 bucks out of pocket. Do not go to this Hertz. They are the worst.
