Worst rental experience in my life. Somewhat untrue, because I didn't actually get to rent a car. I reserved a 7 passenger SUV for a cross-country drive 5 days ago. I showed up to pick it up today, and was told to 'go to the President's Circle and get whatever'. There were NO cars except one compact, which was not what I paid for and not what I needed. I went and explained this to the counter staff, who then took me to talk to the 'manager'. He asked me if I booked the car that day because apparently 'You shouldn't have been able to do that'. Cool - blame the customer. But no, I booked it 5 days in advance. They asked me if I wanted a minivan - I said sure. Then they said they didn't have one. You know what they never did once? Apologize for not having the car that I reserved. In fact, they did the opposite. They acted like it was ridiculous that I should expect to have the car that I selected on their website. If you have any important travel plans, you cannot rely on this location. They are rude, dismissive, and completely incapable. Edit: The manager also lied and said they hadn't charged me. I showed him the receipt, and he kept saying that even though it showed I had in fact been charged. Sure enough - there is a charge on my account. I'm done with Hertz after this. Complete joke.

THE WORST PLACE to rent a car! I rent cars all the time never had this terrible experince! Every car they brought out was not cleaned at all, one car had a spill and sticky seats the next one had empty alchol bottles , weed, and a box knife, we went to talk to the staff they completely ignore you and belittle your concerns they didn’t care there is stuff in the car. Very rude and a waste of time spent 1.5 hours to get a clean normal car. I would give no stars if i could.

This is the worst rental car experience I’ve ever had in my life. My husband and I travel for business and vacation regularly and I will NEVER rent a car from Hertz again. In order to price gouge the customers, they lied saying they had no cars but two “luxury cars” a Shelby mustang for $100 extra per day and a Tahoe for $125 extra per day. We were told the car we reserved could take a minimum of 45 mins to “come in” and at max not come in at all. We really needed to get to an important meeting so we decided to get the “luxury” Shelby. We walk outside to where the rentals are to see A ROW FULLLL OF CLEAN, READY TO GO cars. Instead they stuck us in this beat up “luxury” Shelby that reaked of marijuana. They tried to hide the smell by having the top down to let it ventilate I suppose. The rims were all scraped up with gouges and huge scratches all over the car. The nerve of this company to do this!!

We rented a car here and got a great Chrysler minivan. When we turned the car on it told us that the car needed an oil change. The people at the gate said not to worry. While driving the car it would randomly beep at us and not tell us what was wrong (we weren't speeding, no one was near us, we weren't swerving in the lanes) The gas saving/turning off idle did not work and the light for that was also on the whole time. As we finished in DC and started driving to NY, an hour into the drive we ended up having to pull off to the side of the road from this because it wouldnt stop beeping. We had to take the rental to another Hertz and lost 2+hours of vacation due to negligence on Washington DC Airport Hertz inability to keep the car in a drivable condition. Even the Hertz we took it to wrote "needs oil change" on the window when we exchanged it.

Extremely polite, knowledgeable, and reliable service. We came here after there were no vehicles available at a different Hertz location, even though we had scheduled our rental weeks in advance. The Hertz @ Reagan Airport got us to our reserved vehicle type quickly and smoothly.
