I was charged an extra $95 because the manager, Christine, failed to do my job. I returned a car on 7/18 in the morning and went in to get the receipt. The manager told me I needed either the car keys (which the attended outside had already taken) or the contract )which I had at my home) that I could not get a receipt. I told her they had looked up my account before using my name, and she said they couldn't search that way, but she said, "Don't worry, I assure you we will send you a receipt." Later that night, around 1145pm, I got an email receipt from them saying that I had kept the car for an extra day. I returned the next day with the contract explaining the situation, and the guy asked if I could corroborate my story with a video (are you kidding me). So I asked him the manager's name if she was there, and if he was calling her. She walked in. She then told him I did return the car, and they saw it was not closed out on time, and they made a note to change it. After making the note in their system, I asked them if I could get a receipt showing I did return the car on time, and he still said I couldn't get a receipt, but they would email one that day or the next with the correct one. This was one of the most unprofessional situations I have ever had.
This Hertz rental was a complete mess. I have no idea if my charges are correct and cannot get a receipt. There are zero employees to receive the rental returns. Since this is largely the reason my flight was missed, I 100% blame Hertz for this. I would complain in person but again, that would require the lot or the counter to be manned which it is not. I wish I would have kept the car and drove instead of my flight bus being missed. Returning it to a different airport would have been the same level of consideration I have come to expect from Hertz. I wish I could give zero stars. What a joke.
Horrible experience at this location. I came to pick up my two week rental. They gave me two options: a beat up old Mitsubishi Mirage or an electrical vehicle. The beat up option didn’t feel safe for long drives, and I got the rental for a long road trip so I opted to try the electric vehicle never having driven one before. They gave me NO INFO on how to charge it. It came with 95% charge on it. I couldn’t find anywhere in the area I was staying to charge it. It’s day one and it’s already a hassle. I am so disgruntled with Hertz. I chose them because they’re supposed to have nice, clean, modern cars, not old beat up junkers with the bumper fallen off or a forced electric rental!
Booked a car online got to the airport when they found out it was being returned to a different location they did not have any cars!! Person at the counter offered no help and made it out to be my fault that I booked online!
Hertz there in Allentown PA was very accommodating. I spoke with Heather and she was friendly, helpful and informative. I tried to rent a car from 'another' car rental company and they had lies as to why they couldn't rent me a car. Hertz was fast and economical for my one way trip from PA to NC. I will be a return customer with Hertz they have no craziness with them as the 'other' did. Thanks Hertz.
