Well I’m not really sure where to start. 1st the parking is absolutely trash, and meter maid has everyone stressed out because as we pulled up they’re giving tickets. 2nd, Why do you not offer topcut brisket? The guy(dressed like a girl) said they probably were out, and the older lady was super friendly also said they don’t keep “fatty side”. I ordered a 1/2 lbs brisket, and 1/2 lbs smoked sausage. The brisket had minimal to no smoke ring, and can someone tell me why everything is sliced so thin? I feel as if I had cheese it would be a cheesesteak or something. The brisket even being super thin didn’t even fall apart, it was still super tough. When did an establish bbq joint start cutting meat with the grain? Makes it even more difficult to eat when it’s not tender. 3rd, the smoked sausage didn’t have much flavor, and with it being super thin, I felt like I was eating bologna out of a pack. The atmosphere was great, but I didn’t understand why this place has such great reviews. Not for me.

Hawg Jaw has a great turkey sandwich and delicious homemade BBQ sauce. Their Mammaw’s Spicy Sauce tastes like a spicy apple pie, and pairs great with their fries, which are thick cut and crispy. If you’re in the area, it’s worth a visit. Customer service was great and food arrived promptly.

New review June 2024 (last 8 photos) Unfortunately this visit wasn’t as great as our first. The brisket was super thin and tasted not good at all - completely different texture than last time (you can see the difference in the photos). It was almost like deli meat. The burnt ends were decent. The Mac and cheese was just ok. They were out of the wings (the reason we returned, sadly). The employee was taking our order while busy chewing his dinner, which was a bit off putting. Original review June 2021 (first 2 photos) We loved this BBQ! We ordered online and got take out for our hotel room. It was ready quickly and the really friendly employee gave us all the different sauces and smoked ketchup to try. We liked them all. We really loved the wings. They were amazing. We also enjoyed the burnt ends and brisket. The beans were tasty, but we weren’t fans of the cheesy sauce part of the corn. If we lived in Kansas City, we’d be regulars! I think they sold bottled sauces but since we took take out we didn’t know if we’d like them enough to buy them. Next time!

Good experience overall. I got the platter with the brisket and burnt ends and a side of potato salad and the mac and cheese. Let me say the portions are small and I left hungry. The mac and cheese was delicious and clearly homemade. The burnt ends were good, mine were a little dry but still hit the spot nicely. The brisket was a bit disappointing. I think largely because it was cut about as thick as sandwich meat. I know a lot of places do it like that which I don't understand because nobody cuts it that thin when you make brisket at home. I was a big fan of the sauce and would have bought a couple had I seen them available for sale. Again, overall, pretty good.

We ordered takeout and the food was prepared quickly, and it was absolutely delicious! We didn't have a single thing that was bad except for the chocolate chip cookies being as hard as rocks. I really enjoyed the cheesy corn and french fries as sides
