Stayed one night on way to UP. Room was smoked in previously (hotel can’t help that) had no laundry bags or ice bags in room. They have a nice indoor pool. Bed was comfortable and floor was quiet. Breakfast was 7/10 for a Hampton. Coffee was good! Plenty of parking, Walmart right behind and plenty of food options around. Had digital key option so that was nice. Would stay again.
The reason I'm giving this hotel a one star is when I arrived at the hotel which I've been staying at for weeks now, The front was completely blocked off by vehicles. One was an actual guest checking in. When I confronted the front desk about it, one of the people behind the counter said they were management and it was their vehicle. So if there's some sort of emergency at this hotel, first responders would have difficulty getting in because management is too lazy to walk from an actual parking spot. Personal laziness is greater than guest safety.
The beds were horribly hard, not comfortable and not like other Hampton Inns we’ve stayed. Bathroom was dirty, floor gross and had clumps of someone else’s hair. Trash was in the garbage cans from previous guests. Where the toilet paper and dryer are stored hadn’t been wiped in forever. As a previous housekeeping supervisor this room was sad :( Location great. Staff friendly.
This hotel is a little dated and could use a little freshening up but its a great location. With the app, I was able to unlock the exterior doors. In smaller cities like Gaylord, that usually doesn't work. Checked in on the app, went straight to my room and checked out on the app. Never saw a staff member or even the lobby. Picked a room close to the back so I was in and out quick and easy. I heard the freeway a few times but that is expected in a room facing the freeway. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again the next time I'm in town. I was also surprised to see a couple of full length semi-truck parking spaces that would fit a full tractor-trailer. Lots of parking and walking distance to Walmart and the attached strip mall.
The room was clean. The hotel was quiet the night we stayed. Complimentary breakfast was hot and convenient when eager to get back on the road.
