Wow! What a great place to stay for a great price! I was impressed by how clean the room, bright and spacious the room was! It was also very, very quiet. Right off the main drag but I couldn't hear any traffic at all. I could not hear any of the other motel occupants either. I would definitely recommend Gardner's Country Village to anyone either traveling alone or with a family in tow. I will definitely be back!
This place was recommended to me by another hotel proprietor who had no vacancies. I love the town of Afton and have visited here quite often when I lived in Victor, ID. The motel is located right off the main road in a commercial area including a gas station, restaurant and an auto yard. My room was extremely clean, large and very comfortable. It was very good value for the money. I would have given Gardner's 5 stars for such nice accommodation, but took off 1 star for the bored beyond tears welcome I got from Jarum at the gas station. It seemed he wanted to be anywhere else but there and the check-in process was painfully slow even though he had all of my information..
I was hesitant to book this place, being a small motel right off the highway, but it wasn't bad at all. You could hear the traffic a little, but I've certainly had far worse. The room was super clean and nice. It was a little cold, but this is Afton. I had to pull out the extra blanket, and then I was ok. Running the wall heater was loud and never got real warm. The remotes were a pain to figure out, and I'm pretty good with technology. I'm still not sure why there were two televisions in the room, but only one seemed to operate. The check-in hours are very limited, which was strange since you check in over at the gas station, and the gas station was open past the check-in hours. Also, no free breakfast, which has become a standard for my hotel stays. One last thing, there is no conditioner or lotion. They supply a Pantene 2-in-1 shampoo, but we all know those are just not the same as having a dedicated conditioner. I would definitely stay here again, just come a little more prepared.
Wonderful location in Star Valley, right across from the beautiful Star Valley LDS temple. We loved our stay here. Bathrooms were squeaky clean and it was convenient to be located right next to a gas station with food and snacks. The blinds could be better to block the early morning sun, but otherwise a great place for our family trip.
My wife and I booked a one night stay on the way to Yellowstone along with 2 other couples who got rooms as well. The rates were reasonable and the staff was very friendly! The rooms were clean with the extras like fridge and microwave. The motel is next to a general store and gas station making it extremely convenient to get food. The scenery in Afton was peaceful and would certainly recommend Gardner Motel to anyone!!
