This place sucks. They did not clean the inside side of my car.
I will never use this company again. I am in California on a travel nursing assignment and rented through this company at the Los Angeles LAX and was deployed to a county to work that is 4 hours away from the pick up location. I called customer service to see if it would be possible to drop the vehicle off to a location closer to my deployment. The customer service rep had zero customer service skills and immediately came off as not wanting to be bothered with my concern of having to pay $200 dollar fee just for wanting to have a more convenient location to drop of the car. I asked to speak to a manager because I could not believe it would cost that much, their fees are terrible and Fox does not make any conveniences for the customer. It’s as if you are punished for being a customer. There are high fees to extend the rental if wanted as well!! Back to me asking to speak to a manager, the rude rep would not even transfer me to a manager without telling him what I wanted to speak to the manager. I told him I had the right to speak to a manager as I am a paying customer and he still did not transfer me. I told him I would call back to speak to one but I am exhausted from that encounter I had with him and don’t even feel like talking to anyone else from the company. Just stay away from FOX rental as there are better companies who appreciate their customers and treat them with respect.
So far the experience has been very good. I just got the car from this location in Century Blvd. in Los Angeles. At the time of my arrival only waited for about 5-7 min. The person who helped me, Selena, spoke English and Spanish fluently. She was very informative, she was respectful and explained patiently all the different charges for the rental. The place was relatively clean but all employees wore masks. I had a chance to pick the vehicle I wanted, out of three, and they gave ample time to make sure I was comfortable driving it. The cars are clean inside and out side. Over all the experience has been very positive. Customer service was friendly and the process was easy and relatively fast.
Not worth the upfront savings! They will get you when you return the car. Be careful of extra mileage, cleaning, and gas fees. And the customer service was horrific. I waited an hour to pick up the car because they didn’t have what I paid for. While waiting, I witnessed 3 other customers having the same issue. When it came time to return the car, they were extremely rude. They charged me extra for mileage, gas (even though I returned it with a full tank), and a $75 detailing because there was dog hair in the trunk. This was after I specifically asked if there would be an extra charge for having a dog in the car when I picked it up. The low prices are definitely not worth the wasted time, money, and being treated with no respect!
If I could give it a zero stars I would. My experience was great up until I realized the representative charged me even though I told him not to. I called the line and was on hold for more than 45 minutes. Remember I’m on vacation so I thought it could be handled once I returned the car. I have full coverage on my personal vehicle so I didn’t need theirs. In the end he charges me almost 80.00 extra. When I talked to the manager first thing he says is well you signed it. However I have rented cars from plenty of companies and once I deny add ons I sign the paper work as usual. I already know the price because I booked online and I booked one of the specials that had to be paid up front! So I had to pay for the car back in October!!!! I even asked him why would your representative still add charges to my account when I denied all additions. His response throughout the entire ordeal was well you shouldn’t have signed it. Again my car was paid for before I walked in the store. Billing is closed on the weekends but I will be calling 1st thing in Monday morning. Take the warning seriously. People have stated this same thing below.
