Sad to see people complaining about parking like septa is under budgeted please dont expect this system to be perfect anyways. The station is clean and really nice, big plus with raised platforms.

I don't know what happened. I use to be able to find a spot so easily but now there are zero by 8:00am. What's really frustrating is there are a TON of permit only spots free. But you will almost certainly get a ticket if you try to park there. If they would just convert those unused spots to daily maybe people could actually park there since you're certainly not going to find a spot at Glenside or Jekintown.

This is a really neat station with great upkeep! The wheelchair accessible underpass and the roofs of the station are in immaculate order! What is not so neat is the history just down the tracks. On July 17, 1856, a chartered excursion train was taking eleven-hundered Sunday School children on a trip to a picnic. The excursion train slammed into a morning train near today's Camp Hill Road, causing a fire and destroying three passenger cars. The deaths from this accident are still unknown, as many bodies were burnt to where they could not be recognized, but the estimated amount were between 59 to 67, many of which were children. Another 100 people were estimated to have been injured. Having said this, the rail system is much more advanced and this type of accident is much more rare today, but the history of this accident is locally forgotten. The station where this accident happened has been removed completely, and the remaining history is found in books and databases. Still, the active SEPTA line is really neat to ride, and Fort Washington station is peaceful to sit at. With a timed permit from SEPTA, people are even allowed to solicit at this specific station! I once had the chance to set up a table and sell some stuff for fundraising. I would recommend visiting this station for the past and present, even if you aren't into trains!
