Dollar Car Rental - Dallas / Ft Worth International Airport
What people are saying
I really need 0 stars. I rented a vehicle from them from 7/20-7/22. Rental rate was 36.00/day. I prepaid for the rental on line. When I returned the car I was charged an additional 132.99/day. It’s clearly an error. However, I have unsuccessfully been able to talk to anyone on the phone to correct. It’s very frustrating. Customer service is horrible. Not to mention the first car that was given to me had a spare tire on it. I had to go back in and request a new car. I will dispute with my bank next the $391.00 charge to my card. It’s been a very time consuming and frustrating experience. I will never rent from Hertz Dollar again. I am a frequent business traveler and have to move on quickly. This is very inconvenient. Update: The link provided below does not work. After finally getting a live person on the phone I was hung up on without even getting a chance to say anything. The email responses that I have gotten back are not related to me but other customers whom seem to have the same complaints about overcharging. They respond with a reservation number that is not mine. My name is not Florence!
Hi I really had a very bad experience and need to give 0 star rating out of 5 and never ever recommend the dollar rental car service I rented out the dollar rental vechile through AAA membership travel where I rented from DFW on 17 of July Wednesday and the drop of location is also DFW at 27 of July but I got a EV sedan which is polestar 2 the car has a terrible battery which isn’t getting over 170 miles on full charge and even when I am renting out the vechile I asked the representative assisting me about the vehicle and I showed it’s only filled around 72% charger and took a picture and I travelled from DFW to saint Louis which took me more than 20 hours with lakh of charging getting depleting and I contacted the dollar customer service and asked about the issue and as per her instructions I dropped here at St Louis, MO on Friday morning around 2:20 am and on next two days Saturday and Sunday I have tried to contact dollar, thrifty and hertz on the issue and spoken with different teams of representatives and road side assistance also explains what was the cause of issue and said the representative which said me to drop of the vehicle at the St Louis, MO made a note on my rental record and I also mentioned each detail and a case number is also generated and which was on Monday from last three days it’s not following up and I showed up today at the St Louis, MO dollar rental about the issue the car is at the same drop of location which haven’t closed my contract and they are saying they didn’t find the keys in the drop box and making it more complex I followed the instructions of the agent on the call of Thursday night around 10:30 pm and dropped it as per she insisted and made every note and I reparative from thrifty rental help out when I tried to reach the dollar/ thrifty/ hertz rental he sent mails to both the DFW and St. Louis, MO locations and address to check and close the close the contract but it’s not moving anywhere please anyone try to help me out in the scenario I am tried of driving from Florida and reached over to st. Louis all night just solve my rental problem but no one is properly responding and what should I do with the scenario even after following dollar rental representative instructions also??
I was little worried with all the bad reviews this page has, but I got a nice Volvo S60 for my premium rental. Got in early, I believe I arrived by 7am in Dallas, I think I was the only customer there, in 20 minutes I got the car and went on my merry way. Bear in mind I was there for the eclipse and I overheard they had no more cars for walk in rentals, so plan accordingly if you're there for a big event. The car was new and very economic, I rode the whole Metroplex area only needing one full tank refill.
Completely apathetic people working here. Nothing happens and it takes a long time. First car that we got after the 1hour of “express service” had a broken radio, 30 more minutes we get a car with one tire completely worn down and one well past the usable level. Now waiting for the third car.
If I could put 0 stars I would. I had mechanical issues with my car where the tires popped on the interstate while I was over 2 hours away. I got misleading information throughout the entire process and ended up paying over $300 in additional repairs just to get the vehicle back to DFW. When I returned the manager took my recipes and said I would be reimbursed and apologized. However, 3 weeks later and NO reimbursement. I have emailed the manager more than once with 0 responses or even acknowledgement that they have been received. I’ve also called Dollar Rental Company and gone through the online portal for the call back. Still nothing... This company is an absolute scam who will place you in a dangerous situation AND never follow through. Do NOT book under any circumstance with this company.
