The pharmacy is great, but... I'm a disabled 61 yr old female. One day I came in for 2 cartons of Coke. Picked up a tiny package of denture liner, which I sat on top of my purse so it wouldn't fall out. On the way to the register I got out my wallet and phone to verify I had the funds, which I did. Wasn't feeling so well so headed straight to register. After checking out I went to grab the bag with the denture liner, and thought she must not have given it to me. Then I realized it's because I didn't give her the denture liner. Before I could turn around to say anything I was being detained and hustled to the back of the store. Picture taken, banned from the premises, and wasn't even allowed to purchase my denture liner. Mind you I never even left the store with my "loot". I stopped and realized what had happened before I went out the door. The security girl who stopped me was very nice, considering, but really! She said corporate will render a decision. All this for a $5.99 item that was still safe and secure on their property the whole time. Well I had a decision to make also. Where to transfer my 10 or so regular blood pressure and heart meds to. Even though I'm allowed to go to the drive thru, they give me my refills in a large paper bag, and it won't fit in the tube. I'm just not feeling it.Summa pharmacy here I come.
The pharmacy is always quick I dont ever have any issues with this location. Repeat customer each month to get my scripts.
For the most part I love this little store. I usually find everything I need and it’s close to home. That being said, I do agree with some of the other reviews. The cashiers in front are very friendly typically. Once in a blue moon there is a cranky one. One day there was a very nice, young man working on register one. He was fast, friendly and efficient and it was funny because he made a comment about the young female cashier on register two saying all she does is slack off. He is by far the best employee I’ve seen in the front in a while. There was another younger female who told me what the best days are to get sale items not only at Drug Mart but also at Acme which I appreciated but thought it was strange to upsell another store. The pharmacy…I don’t even know where to begin. Slow is not even the proper word for it. Seems like they change pharmacy staff a lot. There used to be a really nice male pharmacist but I received a call one day saying they put one of my son’s medications in with someone else’s and whoever they gave it to returned it. Therefore, it was a HIPPA violation and I haven’t seen that guy since. Sad because I feel like the pharmacy ran smoother when he was there. There was also a very nice (possibly Indian) woman that I haven’t seen in a while either. She was very fast and friendly also. The other day I waited an entire hour for meds that I was told would be done in 15 minutes. I understand things happen but this happens almost every time. Weekends are the worse as far as the pharmacy goes. The blonde pharmacist has an attitude. One woman had to ask for them to run her prescription through Good RX because she didn’t have 100.00 to pay for it. The male pharmacist automatically does that. The staff is just clueless.i watch them run around spending ten minutes looking for a script, looking in the computer, asking the pharmacist where it is, it’s a mess.. The drive thru situation is weird. Sometimes you sit there forever also. I do not like that there is no window and you can’t actually see the person. I switched to Drug mart because CVS was slow as heck too. Now Drug mart is worse than CVS ever was. Whoever manages the pharmacy needs to start managing the workers back there. It’s a mess.
Three times now....THREEEE...I've attempted to use the drive thru to get a prescription and nobody ever answers. I understand if they're super busy, it taking a few mins or whatever but at LEAST acknowledge the customer and tell them you'll be with them as soon as possible. You don't leave people sitting out there with nothing. I ended up going inside ( when sick ) to get meds and when I got back to pharmacy, there was only like 2 people in line and at least 3 workers besides the cashier. Why couldn't ONE of them at least acknowledged a customer? I'm ready to transfer scripts elsewhere because this pharmacy isn't the spot. Don't send your meds here...SMH
Saves me the run around. Discount Drug Mart has so many every day essentials as well as obscure things like Cavaliers beer, Shaq Soda, and Stacker2 Gyrating Grape. I mainly like going for the Reverse Osmosis Water 💦 Be sure to take advantage of the Drug Mart rewards card. More points = more drugs.
