This was my favorite place to be when I was younger, all of my summer memories as a child are centered around the Derry twp rec center. I was extremely sad when it closed for multiple summers in a row and then even more upset by the new pools. Not only as a member but as an ex employee I can say first hand how awful this place is. The guard supervisors don’t care about the safety of guests or their employees, on more than one occasion I was worked more than the legal limit for my age and without a break. We never had to clean anything and to me now as a member I can see that still hasn’t changed. The facility is overcrowded with toddlers and massive swim floats, the only place you can possibly swim without getting jumped on or splashed by an unsupervised. child is the lap area. However unless i’m with my mom I often get kicked out just for being a teenager even though I am using it for its intended purpose. That is if the lap area is even open, because 90% of the time it’s closed for no apparent reason. It’s a gross facility run by clueless kids who don’t care about your safety. Whether you are a member or a day pass you will be severely overcharged for the little bit they offer.

The park is very good and well maintained. We went there on New Year day so the building was closed but our kids have enjoyed the community park rides. They have well separated court for tennis, soccer, swimming and volleyball. The park is also easily accessible to all the local residents and well organised. We have been there for a hour or more but we have enjoyed the time with the kids after the Hershey chocolate world.

Leisure pool, outdoor pool and play areas were immaculate. Has locker rooms, showers and clean restrooms. Life guards were kind and alert. Great place.

Beautiful outdoor pool complex, indoor heated family pool, competition lap pool, basketball court, huge gym with personal trainers, tennis courts, a senior center, and a kids playground. Great friendly staff. Reasonable prices and lots of activities.

The pool has been a refreshing get away for the kids, they absolutely love it. I wish the hours were more often. With winter months the "park and playground" get quite old... LoL When they originally started with the indoor we were excited. There must have been issues with keeping people on scheduling or hiring I'm not sure but the hours for the indoor pool were varying all over the place, we would have kept our membership but with the hours it was really difficult to make that choice. So we do our day passes. Great place, and the hours appear steady this moment , so we might renew our membership again. I read the one review and I'm quite shocked. We've been going to the rec center since they're reopening and we have not experienced any issues with the pool indoor or outdoor. I've never even seen alcohol on any spot of the establishment. If there was alcohol I would hope that someone would be able to step up to the plate to let the management know the situation. Cuz I would, and that would be the appropriate thing to do, because it's not my expectation really that management would consistently and constantly be watching because that would be difficult in any situation or any facilities. A community rec center is a responsibility and a representation of a community.
