Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Spokane Airport Airway Heights
What people are saying
The shuttle drivers were great, the first room we were in the air conditioner wasn’t working, we had to go back downstairs to go back upstairs to our new room. They had no rooms on the bottom floor and no elevator. The stairs were difficult for my husband who has a bad back and knees..overall the experience was great for an overnight stay! Staff were nice.
Would give this place zero stars if I could. Do not stay here if you can help it. We found drops of BLOOD on our sheets, as well as hair in the sink, used toiletries, and condoms in the nightstand, not to even mention the smell. When we informed the front desk the moment we found the blood, it was the middle of the night since we had just gotten back from an event, we weren’t able to get another room due to them being fully booked, our options were to let them change our sheets and that be good enough or sleep in our car. I made sure the person working on the night shift (Sawyer) took pictures and he said he was sending them to management, I made sure to tell him to attach my name and information as well so when I called on Monday (earliest I could reach management) this wouldn’t be a surprise to him. I also mentioned it to the girl working in the morning when we were checking out. When I was able to speak to their joke of an assistant manager, Rafael Avalos, he took no responsibility, said he has no way of knowing if that was our blood or not (accused me of lying) and told me to contact my bank about getting a refund. When I realized he wasn’t going to help me resolve this issue & asked for his higher ups information, he told me he doesn’t report to anyone and doesn’t have a boss, when I said ‘obviously you report to somebody’ he got really aggravated and said ‘oh so you’re accusing me of lying’ then hung up on me… when I called back because my issue wasn’t resolved, he spoke over me the entire time wouldn’t let me get a word in and hung up on me again. I have no idea how he got the assistant manager position, the way he handled this and talked to me was extremely embarrassing for the company. After reading reviews about him, I feel a little better knowing I’m not the only one that has had a similar bad experience. Since I know he likes to reply to these- Don’t worry about putting me on a “do not stay” list like you do to every other negative review. You couldn’t pay me to stay here again. EDIT: And now he’s lying in his reply saying I didn’t mention anything until check out, this is completely untrue. We would not have slept in a bed with bloody sheets, we informed the front desk around 12:45am, he took pictures, said he was informing management & changed our bedding. The next morning, when checking out, a new person was on shift and I informed her as well while getting the contact information for management. Do better Rafael.
This place was excellent! Tania welcomed me, was friendly and helpful. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The wake up call was on time and the shuttle driver was ready to drive me in the morning. My car was kept safe and was super affordable to keep it there. They paid for my taxi to pick up my vehicle when I arrived back in Spokane. This was above and beyond great customer service. Thank you Management fir a wonderful team and lovely experience.
The only good thing about this hotel is it is close to the airport. My room wasn’t dirty per se, but it hadn’t been cleaned very well. There was still other peoples hair in the shower, dirt on the floor, and the furniture in my room was very very used. Unfortunately, the beds seem to be right on the other side of the wall from each other, as my neighbor kept me up snoring half the night. My review is mostly to let people be aware that if you need a shuttle very early in the morning don’t trust the people working here to book it . I had asked the front desk four different times over a two week period if they had a shuttle to get me to the airport at 4 AM I was reassured over and over again that I would be taken care of. Myself and another lady were out waiting for our shuttle at 3:45 AM like we were asked to only to be told by 4 AM that nobody had scheduled us one and my flight was leaving at 5AM. I am very thankful for the lady I was with as she did have a vehicle and was able to get us to the airport, not being able to trust the hotel to book a shuttle for us was just ridiculous. I will not be staying here in the future.
When we called the hotel the Monday before our stay to check about the shuttle service, the person at the front desk told us that as long as we called before 12:30 AM we would be able to get a shuttle over to the hotel. As our flight arrived we called at 12:00 AM and we’re told the shuttle was no longer running. We had to them find and pay for an Uber to get us to the hotel. Once we got there at 12:30ish the person at the desk took forever to check us in as he was busy with something on the computer. We were the only ones checking in at that time. The room was average. It was a little below our cleaning standards and just didn’t feel 100% comfortable in the room as we have other hotel rooms before. The toilet kept running throughout the night and at 2:30 AM the fire alarm went off for about 30 seconds and then stopped. We weren’t sure if it was an actual alarm or not. When we told this to the front desk the front desk the next morning she replied “oh that happens often”. We took the shuttle the following morning back to the airport to pick up our rental car. The shuttle ride was quick but the driver looked disheveled. It was one of the cheaper hotels rooms around but I still feel like we paid too much for the service and atmosphere we encountered. Did it work for 1 overnight before picking up our rental car from the airport? Yes it did. Would I do it again? Probably wouldn’t.
