CVS on McGalliard is going out of business. Very poorly run store! There is never anyone at the cash register and are never stocked up on items advertised. CVS on Tillotson is absolutely wonderful! Staff is friendly & helpful, pharmacy is above great. This is my choice of CVS!
On Thursday Oct 1st 2020 was the worst experience I've had at this CVS Pharmacy. Their were 3 people behind the counter, that I've never seen before. One customer in front of me I waited 15 minutes in line, 2 girls were doing something on their computers and the pharmacist was doing her thing. Finally I had to speak up and ask if anyone is going to wait on customers in line. Not a good visit. Other times it's not bad.
I don’t intend to be mean or cruel, I simply want to express my point of view. Been a customer for years until they stopped carrying a specific medication, but still use from time to time. Called and identified myself, gave my name, medication, dosage, and quantity I take. I said “I get this medication filled here sometimes and wanted to see if you have enough to cover my script if my doctor called in tomorrow?” (a controlled med) Pharmacist was VERY short and stated “No, you’ve only got this medication filled once in the last year and it was in October and it wasn’t at this store. I cannot disclose that information as it’s a safety and security issue. All I can tell you is to have your doctor call tomorrow and they can ask us.” While I understand that there are safety protocols to follow, the pharmacist could clearly see that I am an active customer and that I’ve filled that medication before. Even if she could not give me a direct answer, I would have appreciated some type of assistance with my question. The reason I’m calling ahead of time is because back in October when I didn’t get the medication filled at “your store” is because my doctor’s office called in the script in question and whom ever took the phone order said it would be filled that day. However, when I arrived to pick up my script, I was informed that the medication was out of stock and it would be DAYS before you could fill it. As this is a medication I’ve taken daily for over 4 years and this would result in me missing approximately 6-10 doses, I had to ask, it wasn’t offered by staff mind you, but I asked if we could reach out to another CVS to see if they could fill it. Visibly annoyed, your staff arranged for another store to fill the script. What should have been a simple dash to the pharmacy to pick up my script, turned into a 4 hour ordeal because someone didn’t check to make sure a medication was in stock. Again, I completely understand having safety protocols in place. Another major pharmaceutical company that does business in our town has the same protocols in place. The difference was when I called your competitor and identified myself, and explained the situation, that pharmacist actually took the time to help me and answer my questions. I’m sad to say today was the day you lost my business CVS.
I just read the last 6 reviews for this store. I think the people working the pharmacy at McGalliard in Muncie are Super Stars!!! They are quick, polite, and always work as a team. I suggest those people that have a problem with the McGalliard Street CVS go try out the 12th & Madison store. lol Get you a big dose of that and then come back to the McGalliard store. After trying to give them a chance at the south store for the last year, I can say I’m surprised they haven’t closed down. I’m very pleased with the team at McGalliard CVS!!
Pharmacy has very poor customer service. I am constantly having issues with getting my refills when I need them. They also let me sit in a phone queue for more than a half an hour without once bothering to pick up the phone and, at the very least, asking me to hold. Literally can't fathom that this is a sustainable business model.
