The pool was the whole reason we went, and it did not disappoint my 5 year old. She had a blast. Older kids would be satisfied with it too, fun slide, you can take in your water toys and the pool is heated. The pool area is super warm inside too and hot tub was nice. Pool area has a nice bathroom and decent locker room, and a general use rinse off shower is also in the pool area too. Little game room was cute. Breakfast was disappointing, I'm sure due to COVID restrictions. Rooms are outdated, carpets torn and some usage stains on chairs. Beds were super comfy, pillows good too. Shower was decent. Fridge and microwave were typical. We will definitely go back for the fun pool. Mexican restaurant next door was excellent.
the good was that the rooms was clean with ample amount of towels for showering. The children enjoyed the pool area. the not so good is that 2 of the 2 adult features (hot tub , sauna) were both out of order. had I known that prior to booking I would have definitely picked a different destination.
Horrible. We come to Kent a couple times a year because our daughter goes to Kent State. We will NEVER stay in this hotel again. The hotel is dirty. The hallway is disgusting. The chair in the hotel room was stained all over and the carpet was ripped. I took pictures but it won’t let me add. I read the reviews before we stayed here and told my husband it was not good. He gets “points” for staying here. He even said he will lose the points next time. And please don’t reply with a “sorry you had a bad experience”. There are multiple reviews like this and you apologize and NOTHING has changed. I will definitely stay at the Holiday Inn next door from now on. It is so much nicer. Believe these reviews. It’s that bad. I have never left a bad review anywhere. But this was just ridiculous for the price of a suite.
Took the kids for a surprise swimming sleepover. The pool area was clean and as close to perfect as it could be, for my 3yo and 5yo. In fact, all of the guests seemed to enjoy it, from toddler to grandparent age. My only problem was with the bathroom, in my suite. There was a film on the wall of the shower area, which gave the impression of NOT deep cleaning. It just seemed scummy and not inviting. And although cosmetic, the chipped porcelain seemed to be something they'd want to fix. The fridge was sticky and clearly not cleaned out, on the inside. The room, itself, seemed cleaned and well kept (carpet, closet, dresser, etc). Staff was great too! Although quite busy at a couple times I needed assistance, I was acknowledged and greeted immediately.
What a horrible stay. We wanted a fun weekend away with the kids and it was anything but. The pool was not as pictured. It was small, run down, and, in short, gross. The room was fine but the noises from other rooms was ridiculous. There was even a dog barking in the middle of the night. The front desk called our room twice in the middle of the night because of noise complaints, but it was not coming from our room! The breakfast was awful. We couldn't wait to leave. Waste of a weekend and money!
