Very helpful to have a place to park while waiting to pickup or dropping off family or friends to the airport. My Mom travels with two young children so we normally have to have someone help them get checked in or pick up the luggage so it helps to have a spot to wait while they get situated
Very convenient cell phone parking lot at CLT airport. Saves you some gas while you wait for your airport pickup to arrive and call you to pick them up from the terminal. There's a bench for you to sit on if you want to get out of the car. *** Pro tip: as soon as you get to airport right past the airport fountain signage on Wilkinson stay on the right lane or else you will miss the cell phone parking lot.
Smartest thing they ever did with this airport was put this free parking lot to wait to pick up your passenger(s) without wasting gas driving around. There ain't no shade hardly here, then you got a couple benches to sit and get some fresh air and they do have grass for your pet I don't see "no pets" signs anywhere so I'm going to assume you can let your pet walk around, it is fenced in, not enough to let them run around on their own. WTG CLT!!!**** Here's a tip**** for this lot!! once you turn into the airport from the main entrance(Wilkinson Boulevard) stay in your far right lane immediately, it comes up quick and if you miss it you're going to have to go all the way around through the main pick-up/drop off main concourse zone!! This lot is going to be about less than a 1/16th of a mile(1 min)from the main entrance on the right. The one sign for this lot is small, so take my advice on this one!!! happy travels and I hope the guests your picking up aren't there to just simply ruin your holidays too. They do have a small designated pet area here all the way at the very end just before you pull out to go back to the airport!!
I was able to get a handicap spot near the pickup. Seamless experience. Learned to take a picture just in case my trip experiences overshadow my memory of parking.
It's a really well lit and spacious lot. Most people even know how to use it but clearly bot everyone.
