Cascade P-Patch Community Gardens
What people are saying
Well-cared-for big city p-patch in the spirit of inner-city urban revitalization. The volunteers who maintain & tend this productive vegetable garden are welcoming & knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and community-minded. One of the volunteers explained to us that this is a “Giving Garden”. Fresh from the earth, the seasonal harvest (thousands of pounds of produce each month) is donated to support the homeless or the poor; Likewise, there are occupied tents & sleeping bags around the adjacent community center building (this is a brief disclaimer in case you are uncomfortable with such inner-city realities). Nonetheless there is a “good feeling” positive vibe about this place; Upon entering this public park, visitors feel a sensation of welcome relief or lush green reprieve from the hard concrete city.
This park includes a playground, restrooms, community center, and P-patch communities gardens. There are people camping in the park frequently. The p-patch is well maintained and it's interesting to look at what everyone has chosen to grow! The hot lava game in the playground is lots of fun and a great upper body workout.
The people whom have created, care for, and maintain the community garden, do so with no forthought of being praised, nor financially or socially compensated. These great people seem to do this in order to glorify their neighborhood as a whole. Superb.
One of my favorites, 😊📷❤️🌃🌼🌱🥀🌿😇
Good p patch and park. Big field, basketball court, and kids play area. Good place to visit during the day. The daycare down the street take kids there often on a walk or to play during the days.
