Capital One Arena
What people are saying
Capital One Arena has been the home to Washington DC professional hockey and basketball teams since 1997. From concerts, artist, hockey, basketball, monster trucks, Capital One Arena is a premier venue in the downtown Washington DC. With 20,000 capacity there are not many bad seats in the arena for a hockey match. I attended a hockey match and during the intermission, significant traffic created a log jam of 1 to 1 passing due to concession lines (section 417-418) made it difficult to tour the arena. It might be better on lower levels, but that could use a redesign. Multiple urinals in the male restroom had overflow early and did not appear to be responded to by staff before I departed the arena. Overall, it is a good place to attend a sporting event, improvements can be done, but the functionality of the arena is intact. Recommend attending a sporting event in Capitol One Arena.
The arena was easy to find, and the security guards were kind and helpful when giving instructions. The signs were understandable. The only drawback was being so high up and on the side that I was unable to see the bigger screens, and the screen I did have was partially blocked by light fixtures. Not a big deal, though, to be expected of an arena of this size. Ticket prices were average to high, which also should be expected. Wonderful experience all together, from the quality of the sound systems to the cinematic lighting and the amazing performance! I would be more than happy to go again and would highly suggest this arena to others.
Not quite as old as MSG but not as new as Prudential. Display tech is top notch and much more suites than I normally see at a hockey arena. I think best part is ease to get here via public transportation and access from museum row. Food options are limited and disjointed at end locations because of suite locations. Good views from every section 200s and up.
Visited Capitol One Arena for the 2024 ACC Tournament, and played clarinet for the Duke University Pep Band for the Duke vs. NC State game. The atmosphere was incredible inside, and the security were both kind and professional in letting us enter the stadium. The traffic around the arena can be extremely slow -- even by DC standards -- so I suggest taking the metro if you want to reach your event on time. Looking forward to coming back to the stadium one day!
Mr. Vincent, the manager, was the very best today. He was able to get my cousin and her 2 children, and myself a suite to sit in because there was no seating during my other cousin's graduation ceremony. The arena was so pack ! I appreciate his customer service skills. Thank you again.
