Gorgeous spacious airport! So roomy and well lit. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The bathrooms are beautiful and modern and spotless. The baggage claim area is clean and wide. There are electronic signs that tell you how many minutes walk to the next bathroom and how many stalls are vacant. Our luggage came very quickly and everything is very well marked. What a fabulous job of design!

It depends which rental company you choose. Hertz, Budget, Avis, Enterprise, National, Alamo, Sixt have no lines. The long wait times are at Dollar and Thrifty. Their rates are the lowest, so if you don't mind waiting in line an extra hour, you won't have any other issues. The staff I encountered were polite and patient, both at the counter and in the lot. I wish I could thank them individually, but I didn't catch their names. Drop off is fast and efficient.

Free shuttle to and from BWI. Wide open space with plenty of seating. Clean bathrooms. The rental car process was quick and straightforward. The only negative I encountered was that I couldn't find any outlets to charge from, and Enterprise charged me an unknown $33 after I returned the rental.

The facility seems to be very remote and is grossly understaffed. We waited very long. By the time I left there was long queue behind me. They must have been fuming by the time they reached the counter which had one person that was meant to be serving clients for two different companies. When I left the facility there was not clear marking regarding how to get back to the Interstate. Returning the car was simple but the company from whom I rented didn't have a dedicated return so I did not get the piece of mind that the car was properly checked back.

BWI is one of the worst airports in America. I hate coming here! Between the dirty restaurants, bad service, long TSA lines (yes, pre✔️ you too), and the unbelievably bad airport shuttle service, it's enough to make even the most chill travel want to loose their mind. I have never waited less than 20 min for the shuttle, my record to date is 98 minutes and if you call the number listed dispatch will just lie and say one is on its way and throw out random wait times. A few weeks ago, 5 of us called back to back, and all got different answers from the same dispatch guy. Apparently, he's not smart enough to know we are all waiting at the same place. There should never be a time when the shuttle arrives or leaves without passengers, yet it happens every time I come or leave this place. When I'm done traveling here for work, I will choose any other airport in America even if it costs me more money. Consider yourself warned.
