The staff working the desk was very kind however, the Internet was down when I arrived to pick up my rental as scheduled at 9 AM. The Internet was still down when I left at 10 AM and canceled my reservation online as I was no longer willing to wait at the airport for rental car that was supposed to be ready at 9 AM. While it was not the desk agents fault, there needs to be a way for staff to solve this problem and not leave customers waiting for hours or canceling their reservations.
My experience earlier this week with the Bellingham International Airport Budget Car Rental was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING. First, the gentleman behind the counter repeatedly insisted I tell him my personal travel plans even after I told him this was a simple 24 hour one-way rental to SEATAC airport, he repeatedly demanded to know where I was flying to from SEATAC. After he repeatedly asked me no less than four (4) times. I finally told him that I wasn't comfortable sharing my travel plans, especially as a female traveling alone. Although I had reserved and paid for an Intermediate Class car, he then gave me a Kia Rio which is an Economy Class (the lowest) car. When I went out to the lot and inspected the car it had significant visible damage on all four sides of the vehicle. Since he had already made me sign a slip stating there was no damage on the car, I walked all the way back into the airport in the pouring rain and informed him about the damage on the car and that it was not an Intermediate Class car. He insisted the Kia Rio was an Intermediate Class car and refused to provide me with any other vehicle even though the lot was clearly full of vehicles. I didn't have any more time to waste so I was forced to take the visibly damaged Kia Rio. That night I looked on the website I booked the car on and confirmed that the Kia Rio was in fact an Economy Class car. Not only did this person lie to me, I believe he retaliated against me for refusing to tell him my personal travel plans. I am including photos clearing showing what Budget states is an Economy car vs. an Intermediate car. Based on this extremely rude and, I believe, discriminating and retaliatory experience, I recommend trying a different car rental company at this airport.
Honestly, I am so frustrated with Budget right now. I spent hours trying to resolve an issue, and it turns out they had no idea what they were saying the whole time. Wasted so much of my time, and charged me more than they said they would, without any explanation of why.
Budget national is horrible to deal with but the local Bellingham branch was great and resolved my issues. The manager is professional and kind.
Booked with Budget called their office in US and confirmed my booking and also emailed Nadi Airport office/desk with confirmation of my rental upon arrival at check in Desk there was not car available had to wait for 2 hours than manager finally arranged a pick up for few days which was not pleasant. after 4 days they changed to a car which was okay but not what i paid for than later to a SUV which was not in better condition and old was frustrating as i had to drive to airport just to exchange vehicles. Had a very bad experience with budget overall.
