I reserved a car at Budget in Waterloo Iowa to be picked up this morning at 10:30am. I got there on time and no one was there! I called a # they said to call. The guy said he'd be back in 25 minutes! He should have been there if he knew someone was going to pick up a rental. Then he didn't show up for almost an hour!! When he got there, he was very rude. I went to pay, and he said they don't take debit cards. I do not like credit cards so I don't have one. My daughter in law was going to pay over the phone with her credit card and he said he can't do it over the phone! So I had no car. I called Enterprise in Waterloo and they said they'll have one by the time I get there. All of this took hours! I was late for work. No one during the booking process said anything about no debit card. There is nothing on their website that says it. I have never had a worse experience in my whole life.

Rented a van. They called to inform me that there was an issue with the van, but had other vehicles there that would work for us. Dairon got the vehicle totally ready for us by the time we arrived. Was very pleasant to work with. Returning the vehicle was a breeze as well.

Avoid this Budget location! We booked a month in advance for a May 2024 trip, arriving 15 minutes early to pick up our rental. The employee only had one key for a filthy Transit with three bad tires, as the keys to other vehicles were inaccessible—the boss, who had the key to the lockbox, was in Dubuque. We were told we'd have to wait hours for his return. We swapped the vehicle at the Cedar Rapids Budget on Council St, where they provided a clean, safe vehicle and were easy to work with. Despite our complaint to Budget, we only received a free one-day rental for the next year—a gesture unlikely to be useful as this was our first rental in eight years. We requested compensation for this trip but were ignored. Returning the swapped vehicle to Waterloo a day early, we were later contacted, being asked when we would return the Transit. They clearly lack organization. This experience severely impacted our vacation enjoyment. I highly recommend that you go elsewhere.

This location is absurd, when I came over waited for almost half hour for anyone to show up, car I have got was dirty, scratching wipers, brakes squeaking, and oil change due, when mentioned that they offered me to go and drop off a car for a oil change. I wanted to rent for one more week, they said we don’t really have a car, and showed absolutely no interest in doing business, whoever owns this business location should do some stuff training or at least basic sales. Also when returning car you will get charged additional fees, in my case $86 on a top what you’ve already paid…

Do NOT rent a car from here. You won’t even get it. I reserved a car for 10AM, showed up, no one was there. Called the number, no one picked up. Called customer service, they couldnt get a hold of anyone. An hour later I finally gave up and found a different rental car company in the local area and had to get a ride there. Awful experience.
