Bookhouse Cinema is seriously the best place in Joplin. Period. I've been coming here pretty consistently for the last five years, so it's fair to say that Bookhouse holds a very special and sentimental place in my heart. I could write a multi-page paper on why Bookhouse is my favorite restaurant, movie theater, and hangout spot, but I'll try to keep it short. Bookhouse is the most unique spot in the area, and I always tell everyone I know that they NEED to come here. The vibe, the artworks, the food, the films, and the people. It's all incredible and completely unmatched. If you like great food, amazing movies, and awesome people, then you absolutely need to go to Bookhouse Cinema.
Had no clue such an amazing place was hidden in Joplin! Some friends dropped me in here for a quick bite and drinks. Entirely worth it! Play some table games with friends, enjoy trivia, but most of all enjoy the food that satisfies those cravings. Menu is limited but excellent.
What a great experience! My wife and I aren’t “independent movie lovers” by any means, but the preview for the movie being shown looked interesting so we checked it out. You definitely want to buy your tickets when you first get there, they have cards at the counter that you can use to reserve your spot! Once you have your seat saved, I highly recommend stepping over to the pub for a nice eating and drinking experience. We had other dinners plans, but all the food I saw looked really, really good. It was a calm and inviting atmosphere while we were there. A place I would be willing to just go sit and hang out, even if I wasn’t watching a movie! They had board games available which adds just one more level of comfortability. Really looking forward to our next time here!
Sweetest staff, clean establishment, creative/delicious menu, alcohol and very inexpensive. Plus a mini movie theatre a few feet away! Can't ask for more. Love it!
