Best Western at O'Hare
What people are saying
f you plan to stay at a Best Western hotel, I suggest that you call the individual hotel directly rather than the central booking line. I used that number to book a room at Best Western O’Hare on behalf of my daughter, who was stuck at the airport late at night after her flight was canceled. I had a long conversation with the representative to make sure he understood which hotel I wanted and for which date (it was after midnight, so my daughter would be checking in and out on the same date.) He assured me that a room would be available in half an hour when my daughter arrived from the airport. When she arrived at the hotel she was told there was no room for her. We spent the next hour trying to arrange another hotel. Several days have passed and I’m still trying to get a refund from Best Western.
We stayed here for one night and had an early morning flight. We had two rooms, they were clean and the beds were comfortable. Our experience from check in to check out was great. everyone was friendly and helpful. The airport shuttle is 24 hours. They let us know to be in the lobby 15 minutes before the time you want to leave. Our party had a great experience.
Does the job, but nothing more. Staff are friendly and reasonable. Room was clean, but the fridge did not work. You can see the attached pictures for an overview of what my room looked like. The bed was clean, no bedbugs. The entire floor and my room smelled like insecticide or some other air freshener, and it was a bit overpowering. When I stayed, the main elevator close to the lobby was broken, so I had to use what appeared to be the secondary elevator which was a bit sketchy (the buttons did not light up and the whole car jerked at every movement). The airport shuttle was great! You simply call the hotel when you need to be picked up, but the van is usually already doing its rounds and comes about every 30 minutes from either Terminal 5/2 Door E. To get to the airport, you need to be downstairs and ready to go 30 min before you want to leave in case the shuttle is already out and about. My departing flight was at 7:30 am, so I got a shuttle at 4:45 am and was the only one on the van. Overall, I can recommend this hotel for a quick airport stay. It’s cheap and convenient.
Number one complaint is the room smells like musty mold and mildew. The room its self is clean but the smell is unbearable. We asked for a room change which was granted but they acted wierd about letting us switch rooms. The only positive to the hotel was we got free parking for our trip and free shuttle. Location is right down the road from the airport and breakfast was edible.
I had a terrible experience in this hotel. A MOUSE was in my room. In 10 years traveling and staying in almost 200 different hotels, first time I see something like this. When I went to tell the front desk they gave me another room but never apologized or offered me any compensation or anything. They acted as if I had a problem with my TV. Worst experience ever. The hotel is dirty, it is a risk I took since was cheap, but there should be boundaries, you cannot offer a room with rats inside! One other thing, in the morning they start knocking doors early to rush the check outs. I was trying to sleep after a long flight and they decided to wake me up very early … Horrible hotel .
