Basil & Baxter's Kitchen and Cocktails

Food was amazing and the owner was even better! She gave us a free drink and dessert because we moved tables for a bigger party. Everything was beyond delicious, will definitely come again! Only complaint is restaurant is a bit small in bar area so it got pretty loud
Tired of all the "usual" Fort Walton & Destin recommendations we found this local place in Niceville. For the 12yr old picky eater we ordered exactly what he wanted and he ate all the food. The 14yr old got the brunch buffet (whew, and good thing too because he probably could have ate 2-3 regular items off the menu - can I get a "GoFundMe account" to feed my two kids?!). My wife had the Breakfast BLT and I had the Bread Pudding French Toast w/Captain Morgan Rum Sauce. (Check the menu for all the fine details...) ALSO, we ordered some savory shrimp beignets w/aioli. We took a few food pics but unfortunately we had already started to eat the food! So our dish pics are incomplete! - The food was excellent and our server was great! (McKenzie I believe). And before we left the manager came to our table to see how it was going. She was making the rounds. This is always a good sign in an establishment like this. Thank you Jenee' for checking on us and encouraging our son in his culinary endeavors. - This restaurant would have gotten 5 stars no matter whether we ever saw the manager or not. We were impressed, and that's hard to do. Kid/Family friendly, local, great service, great food, good atmosphere...what's not to love. Brunch Buffet on Sundays w/bottomless mimosa (for those who need to know) ππ―ππΌβ€οΈ
This is our first time ordering from this place, and will definitely be our last. The first pic is supposed to be the grilled chicken with red sauce and the second pic is the Aioli fries that has bacon bits instead of bacon, like advertised. Donβt be fooled by the pics that are posted online. Definitely not for $90 bucks!!
Such a hidden gem. Love the layout and simplicity. The menu is excellent throughout. My lady and I loved our meals. The chalk board behind us was hard to read but Iβm sure all those details will work themselves out. No complaints overall. Ready to go back again!
Wow! You pull up and it looks almost like a little hole in the wall. You enter and deliciousness GOES DOWN. Bae always picks a winner and this is no different. The star of the show is for sure one of the many preparations of grouper. I ordered the grouper Cadillac, I went with blackened grouper served atop Gouda grits and covered with shrimp etouffee. My partner ordered the grouper nantua which was grilled grouper over basmati covered with shrimp bisque. Both were so delicious we hurt ourselves trying to finish our dishes. Service was prompt and measured. We both ordered before dinner cocktails. I opted for an espresso martini and my partner went with the blackberry sangria. Both were perfectly executed. I ordered a sangria to go with my dinner because it was spicy. We took two slices of keylime pie to go and that was great too. 10/10 recommend! The young chefs are putting in that work!
