Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport
What people are saying
Don’t let the dirty floors fool you. This airport has a lot to offer. Easy to navigate to different gates and each gate has a visible sign. The best part the airport has to offer are the bathrooms! ADA accessible, clean and modern!
This is a decent airport, but it still has a good amount of issues to it. This airport consists of five terminals that branch out from the center; which has ticketing and parking. You can go into TSA right after you arrive, and there’s a good amount of restaurants post security. The airport is also in the process of remodeling between concourses A and B, and it’s clean throughout. One major issue of this airport is security. Baltimore is one of the sketchiest cities in the world, and this area is no exception. The pickup area smelled really bad, and there’s reminders upon entry about locking your car when parking. Overall, safety is a big concern, but other than that, this is still a good airport that isn’t a hassle to go through.
I love flying southwest, and hence, this is usually the preferred airport. There are lots of updates and renovation over the years. Parking: Long-term parking lots are conveniently located nearby with shuttle bus servicing every 15 min or so. Security check is pretty simple and quick. Cleanliness: bathrooms are chic and clean
This seems to be the alternate if you can't make it to Washington Dulles. Five major concourses. Food court central to concourse A and B. There may be another but I wasn't adventurous enough to walk it end to end. Outside of that not a lot of choices. Concourse C has three widely dispersed mediocre choices. Dark, low ceilings, massively in need of renovation. On the bright side less crowded than most other airports I've ever been through, reasonable parking rates, and in my experience anyway, less time needed to get through TSA checkpoints. If you're okay with the trade offs then this could be a good choice. No frills, show up and head out! Just don't expect much in the way of amenities or decor or food options outside the run of the mill fast food chains.
Please consider staffing BWI airport sufficiently in order to keep restrooms clean and stocked with toilet paper, as well as staffing for emptying the garbage bins. Hopefully BWI recognizes and appreciates the hardworking staff and offers appropriate compensation. The staff deserves for management to provide more assistance and reward their efforts. Thank you to the people who keep BWI running!
