The lady at the front desk wasn't friendly and helpful at all, better deal with a computer machine next time. She needs to learn how to deal with customers. Car wasn't clean inside, and there was a strong marijuana smell inside the car, we booked a "premium car." we would expect more for almost $200

Arrived after 22:00 to pick up our rental car for a business trip.The preferred counter was closed so we had to fall back to regular counter. There was a medium long queue which was consumed very slowly. For some unknown reason some people spent more than half an hour at the counter. When it was our turn, it only took us fewer than 10 minutes to get everything done and pick up the vehicle. The returning is much more efficient but you need to be careful not to go to the wrong floor because the lane was designed so that you cannot seem to back off out of the incorrect rental dealer’s space

I recently rented a car from Avis and opted for their gas packet option, by recommendation of the staff, advising that it would save me money and time. However, my experience was quite the opposite, leaving me feeling misled and dissatisfied. Firstly, the gas packet was presented as a convenient way to avoid refueling charges at the end of the rental period. However, what wasn't clear upfront was the exorbitant price tag attached to this so-called convenience. The amount I paid for the gas packet ended up being five times more than what I would have paid at a regular gas station. Secondly, the time-saving aspect was also a farce. Instead of saving time by not having to stop for gas, I ended up spending more time trying to find Avis-approved gas stations along my route, which were often inconveniently located. Overall, the gas packet offered by Avis turned out to be a costly and time-consuming mistake. I would caution anyone considering this option to thoroughly evaluate the actual costs involved and weigh them against the supposed benefits before making a decision. I try to talk to someone at the time of my rental return and nobody was willing to help

Avoid at All Costs! AVIS SFO is Extremely Shady! I recently rented a vehicle from AVIS SFO, and it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a rental company. Here's what happened: 1. Initial Damage: Before leaving the garage, I noticed a large scratch extending from the rear fender to the rear passenger door. I immediately reported it to the gate agent, who gave me a card documenting the damage. 2. Reservation Canceled: A few hours later, I received an email stating that AVIS SFO was canceling my reservation because they couldn't hold the vehicle any longer. The email instructed me to call them if I had already picked up the vehicle. Reaching a representative was nearly impossible; their automated system was a nightmare, and when I finally got through, they said they couldn't take calls. I had to use my company's lunch break to drive back to the location to resolve the issue in person. 3. Damage Accusation: Things went from bad to worse when AVIS SFO accused me of causing the very damage I had reported after returning the vehicle. They demanded my insurance information to cover the costs. Interestingly I also reported the damage again when I returned the vehicle, and the attendant took a picture of the damage report card and assured me I wouldn't be held responsible. Now, I'm overseas, trying to deal with AVIS's claims adjuster to prove the damage was pre-existing. I've been waiting on hold for nearly 30 minutes using international minutes. What a joke... Please do yourself a favor and avoid AVIS SFO. This experience was and still is an absolute nightmare, and their shady practices are not worth the risk.

The car (Genesis G80e) in my assigned spot was gone so was offered a Jeep Cherokee. The car had some wear and tear but was overall pretty clean. Pick-up and drop off were pretty seamless
