The vehicle was unsafe had very bald tires. Was told it was fine. This vehicle was completely unsafe to be on the road and we were sliding everywhere. The vehicle wasn't clean at all was dirty inside and out. Even had things inside left from the previous people. The vehicle had lots of damage to it also. The vehicle was blocked in by other vehicles I had to squeeze in just to move it out of the spot they shoved it in. The staff was not friendly at all either, very rude. I was even asked to show 2 proofs of identification along with my major credit card. Every time I have ever rented just id and credit card. I also paid for the insurance through the third party and yet still was required to use my own personal insurance. What was the point of the insurance offered and paid for if I couldn't use it. We ended up having to to return the first vehicle and get another one which was a whole process to do. Huge waste of time. The road side assistance however was helpful as they could be. They kept calling the location and nobody answered. We had to drive all the back to the location a good distance in an unsafe vehicle not knowing if another would be available. We ended up having to change our plans on our family vacation which was very upsetting. I was told someone would reach out to us regarding the unsafe vehicle that we were given to drive my family around. Still haven't received a call it's been 3 days. Overall horrible experience.

Absolutely the worst Avis I’ve ever been to. I’ve been renting from Avis for years, but after this experience, I may have to change companies for good. First, the vehicles didn’t match what they said we were going to get. We went out to the lot looking for a red dodge sedan and realized the keys were for a red SUV. They told us to just take it (weird but ok). 20 miles in, the car starts stuttering and the check engine light comes on. The car says “drive mode not available” as we are driving (scary). Can’t get ahold of anyone at Avis to discuss this so decide to keep driving it. The tank only held 8 gallons because it was a hybrid. The electric battery was completely empty (not sure how that is allowed when they would def charge us for that). We had to keep refilling it because there weren’t any chargers out by Acadia. We brought it back 4 gallons short because the guy on the phone basically screamed at us and told us not to be more than 2 hours late. Our flights were cancelled because of the IT failures with the airlines, so we were only looking into getting a few more hours. They ended up charging us $100 extra for the missing 4 tanks and $150 extra for the few hours. We may as well have kept the car the whole day! Such scammers and will never recommend this place to anyone. Hope it goes out of business. See ya Avis ✌️

If I could give zero stars I would. The rental broke down 2 hours into our trip, leaving us stranded at 2 am with my children. Was told to get a hotel and I would be reimbursed. Had to call around to different locations to find a replacement. Then had to fight to get refunded because the rep I spoke too didn’t notate. I went with Avis because it was a cheaper option and you get what you pay for! If you want to be stranded on the side of the highway and be thrown 10 hours off schedule I highly recommend them. If you would prefer a safe and easy trip go elsewhere.

There is no place for you to park your vehicle when going in to pick up the rental. Also, if you have an additional driver, you still have to wait in line anyway as you are unable to add the additional driver in the original reservation online so there’s no sense in getting a fast pass because you’re going to have to wait in line to add them anyway , please be sure to check your vehicle. Mine was absolutely filthy both inside and outside.

I am working in Concord, NH with a long-term Avis car rental. I received an email on a Saturday that my car needed some work to be done had to be exchanged in Boston (where the rental was made by my work) 1-1/2 hrs away! I saw on the web there was an Avis rental location near the Manchester, NH airport (25 mins from my lodgings). I went on Sunday night ~8:30PM. The agent at the counter listened to my predicament, remained unflustered, made a few calls and wham! Problem SOLVED!! I got another car, NO travel to Boston needed, no interference with work and my life! I am very grateful for her professionalism and patience. Thanks Avis for having such competent and nice folks working for your organization.
