I rent almost exclusively from Avis. As a preferred member, I appreciate the ease of picking up and dropping off my vehicles. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was not a pleasant one. The first car I was assigned to had a broken passenger side mirror so I requested a new vehicle. I was assigned a new vehicle, and when I got to the vehicle, it was visibly dirty, quite filthy to be honest. So much so that I had to clean the windshield inside and out just so I could effectively see while driving. The inside was not cleaned at all the backseat contained silverware from the previous rental and food in the cupholder. The trunk was full of dirt and leaves. And every time I started the car I received a notification that an oil change was due. not only did I not feel like a preferred customer, I felt like I rented a car from a low budget car rental.
I rent from Avis all the time and all over the world and always had a great coustmer service experience. The only exception is the CLT airport facility, the preferred office staff office are ALWAYS and unprofessional and rude , they are very unpleasant to deal with people last time I was there they were making fun a foreign coustmer after he left because of his accent. They would leave costumers waiting and talk to each others all the time. The car wasn’t clean which is common over-there last time the car was not toped off with gas the girl at the check out gate was very rude as well and was very unhappy to do her job. This place is HORRIBLE. please Avis do something about it.
One of the worse customer services. You have to wait for an assignee team to allocate a car even after you already checked in. The entire process took about 2 hrs staying in line in the ramp waiting for a few people looking for the cars. Extremely poor service. Would not recommend if you have other places to attend or need to meet such deadlines.
Reserved the car for the weekend and they ran out of cars and couldn’t honor the reservation. I understand that things happen but my review is for the customer service here at the Charlotte airport location. They were very rude and dismissive to myself and other customers who had reservations weeks in advance. I think a little bit of empathy would go a long way when you tell people that the car they reserved is now not there leaving groups of people stranded. Maybe re-train on hospitality.
Key Fob was completely broken and even after replacing batter never worked. Avis couldn't help at all. had to spend hour calling them and then submitting issues on their issue web site. Car was not cleaned on the inside or outside. Had to run it through a car wash and wipe down interior.
