Rented a truck in anchorage. The car we got has tires that shouldn't be allowed to drive in the snow because its shallow treadmill that has no traction whatsoever! We got stuck in the snow as anyone would have expected and were out in the pitch dark night, middle of nowhere, with no aid for six hours. We worked for three hours in the morning and dug the car out eventually. It was literally a nightmare. And the best part is -- Avis is charging us for the extra hours when we returned the truck, more than two hundred bucks.

Car rental agencies can be sketchy but we had a great experience. They were through with pickup and drop-off, no hidden fees, the car was great and very clean with excellent gas mileage. Pricey but worth it. No cost for additional driver too!

Airport counter reps where amazing, very friendly and professional, had an easy, pleasant time on initial pick-up. Vehicle was clean and worked out perfectly for us. Drop off (mid-day weekday) however was well, kinda weird. There was no one around and no clear instructions posted or presented to let us know exactly how or where to proceed, just a line of previously returned cars sitting in lanes, with no one around. We waited/walked around for a good 10 minutes attempting to locate anyone, before finally locating someone to check the vehicle back in. Having rented dozens of cars in the past, we found the return aspect of this rental, rather odd & lacking.

The people at Avis were really nice and friendly, and I had no problems at all. The car was nice and clean. I almost thought it was brand new. But the whole experience I had with Avis was a good one. I totally recommend booking a vehicle with them if you're flying to Anchorage and need a vehicle. 👍👍

Super nice people. Great car. Great value. No issues at all. Made the process super easy. Didn't get a receipt without asking, but when I called I was able to get one. Thank you!
