Went to pick up my car and no one was there even though I made sure this location would be open on the holiday. Ended up having to drive to Birmingham to rent a car.

Dirty cars, empty gas tanks, high mileage cars. poorly managed. Upkeep of the Location nasty. Hate renting from Location

Be careful of the fuel surcharge when you return the car, to the Anniston, Al location. I picked the car up there for a two day rental and returned it the next day. A total of 27 miles was put on it. When picking up the car, it had a fuel reading of 6.1 gallons-a little under haft a tank. Returned it after adding 3 gallons of gas-with a fuel reading of 8.6 gallons-little over haft a tank.. YET-I was still charged a fuel surcharge of $15.99. I needed a car for a short period of time and I appreciate Avis being able to rent me one on short notice. But to screw me out of $15.99-even though it was and is noted on the return rental agreement-that the car had more gas in it after I returned it, than when I picked it up-is pretty darn sorry. Update: Oct 18, 2022. Within 24 hours of my post here, Avis responded back to me. After providing them the information they requested-I was informed a refund was being processed.

The first car they put me in after waiting in line of 8, reaked so strong of weed. It was quite impressive it could be that strong and smoky without someone in it smoking at the same time. Then they made me wait for all the others to rent before finally giving me a different car. It smelled like smoke but at least i didn't have to worry about driving on base or being pulled over and being accused of something illegal. I paid too much money to come out smelling like someone else's addiction.

The lady was nice, but I made the reservation online. I counted on the fact, since they charged me & all, that is have a car when i got there. Nope. Nothing. When i went to pick up the car, they didn't have any!!! The lot was empty! She said- wow so sorry! Don't know why they let you make that reservation, when we don't have any cars! OMG. What a nightmare...
