Joshua and Elvie were incredible. The car I picked up in Austin had a tear in rear tire and also both rear tires were bald. I was already into my trip before I noticed. Firestone mechanic stated this car was not safe to drive. So I was directed to the Waco airport and Elvie helped me right away and had a nice safe vehicle for me to exchange . There was ZERO hassle and no extra charges. I was beyond appreciative as this had been a tough week. I would not hesitate to use them in the future.

The lady was very rude. I had to pick up a car and she said there is no car for me to pick up. I payed 75 dollars for Lyft just to be told I can not pick up car. Was discriminated by her and told me to leave the airport her name is Elvie. She is very rude y’all beware of her.

Despite the negative reviews I saw, they came in for three save. My transmission died and I needed a rental to get home, Elvie helped me out immensely to make sure I and my family made it home despite the shortage and high need for vehicles in the area due to recent storms.

The Avis Waco Airport location has staff that truly care about their customers. Elvie is a gem. Thank you for your kindness.

Absolutely the worst car rental company, choose ANYONE else. This Waco office deserves -5 stars, unfortunate 1 star is the lowest option. Had a nightmare experience with a car rental I reserved and PRE-PAID for in their app. Do not even bother pre-booking, because they will not pay any attention to your reservation, and charge you again as a brand new reservation. The receptionist (blonde older lady) seemed nice at first, until she actually had to do her job. I showed her my booking number, which she looked at like it was a foreign language she had never seen before. I thought it was strange that she continued typing away, asking me my name and details, after I already entered all of this online. I told her repeatedly “You know all of this is already in my reservation?” and even wrote the reservation # down for her on a piece of paper. She said “oh yes it’s fine, I can see you here in the system, I am just confirming your details.” She continues still as though she is making a new reservation. I thought this was strange, and had alarm bells going off as this drug on. As I had reserved and paid for this in advance because I had somewhere to be (like most people who rent a car), it was even more insane how long it took her to “check me in.” After about 30 minutes of her gathering all my same details as my app reservation, she then tells me the car I booked wasn’t available, but that they had a different one they could give me at no additional charge. Fine, I just need to get going and wrap this up. After an HOUR total doing this clown dance and then her finding the car keys, she asks me to swipe my credit card to “save my card on file for incidentals.” At this point, I have zero confidence in anything she is doing, and tell her “okay but I already paid, and saved my card on file in the app.” She said she knew this and it wasn’t going to charge me again, it was just to confirm my card on file. Since I am now way late to my appointment, I just swiped my card on the reader. I am now concerned this lady has absolutely no idea what she is doing and may have overcharged me. She has now collected all of my details as though she was making a new booking, had my card swiped, told me I wasn’t being charged again, and I shouldn’t worry. Lo and behold, I log into my bank account while standing there and see a NEW charge for almost $500! I am now super upset with zero patience left. The total I have been charged for a (1 day!) reservation is now almost $700. I tell her she screwed this up and over charged me exactly as I thought she was doing, and that she needed to refund this immediately. She goes full unaware ignorance claiming she doesn’t do refunds and doesn’t know what happened, because she “just works at the front desk and doesn’t know how the card machine works.” That I will have to call the 1-800 Avis number to have support look at it, as they are the only ones who can do refunds. She continues “but I am sure it will be fine, I think the duplicate charges will just fall off! Support will see you already paid in the app and remove the other charge, don’t worry!” I proceeded to call support, and confirmed exactly as I thought, this lady made a brand new reservation and indeed charged me again. It would take up to a week for the refund to go back on my card. Because, you know, we all have infinite resources to tie up over $700 on a rental, that was originally booked for $200. Absolute SHAMEFUL. The best part is, when she charged me for a brand new reservation, it was a HIGHER cost than my original pre-paid reservation. Avis told me I would have to return the car, and check out again in order to get the correct charge I pre-paid for. This obviously wasn’t possible, since I had rented the car to go out of town and couldn’t just drive back to Waco. I am still dealing with the credit card dispute and fighting to get this fixed, over a month later.
