I'm happy with the service of Astound Broadband as well as customer service at drop off. Service works great, they always try work with you and make your needs meet. Regarding the drop off of the equipment. It's so easy and fast, never gave me Amy problems. I do recommend the service, this location. Customer Service has been great so far. By far the worst company to have services with. I am moving out of state and called to disconnect on a certain date. Because my billing cycle ends 4 days prior to when I want to disconnect, they either disconnect on the cycle end date, which I cannot do because I need wifi until I move OR bill me the entire next billing cycle for a service I will no longer be receiving except for 4 days. They are incompetent to be able to prorate services and having good reputable customer service. I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS, even if others are a bit more in price. You get what you pay for.
I feel as if astound is price gouging! They have been charging me for a bundle package and I have one item, Internet how do you bundle one item? I contacted them because From of 2023 until my new bill that is due for June 2024 it went up a total of $40. The only answer I ever received is that I was always on a promotion. Mind you I could never get my one service for any of the promotions that were available to new customers, despite the fact, I’ve been a loyal customer over 30 years. I asked if I were getting a refund for all of the months that I was charged for a bundle pack when I only had one service and I have my own modem so I was basically using their Internet service into my home. I told them I was not satisfied for what they had to offer. I told them that I believe what they’re doing is illegal through the FCC that’s not gonna get me far. It’s not a monopoly and I can go elsewhere asking around there are people that get the Internet for $30. I think that’s despicable and they should be ashamed.
Won’t let you cut off services until end of billing cycle so that they can charge you the full amount after they jack up the bill. Bad business practices. After 5 years of asking for NOTHING other than to keep my rate at a decent price, they wouldn’t do anything to keep me as a customer. Pay my bills before they’re due every month, never needed new equipment, never complained about a single thing,… so glad we got another provider, if this is how they feel they should treat low maintenance customers. ✌️
Absolutely terrible customer service. They claim to be able to provide a service and charge for a certain speed, but you're lucky to get just above half of the speed you pay for on a good day off-peak hours. Then when calling customer support, they claim my personal equipment can't handle the speeds. I shared the device's technical specification sheet with them to correct them on their error and essentially BOTH I and Netgear are called a liar by extremely rude tech support people, who are clueless about the work they actually do. They read a prompt off of a computer screen to find a way to make you believe the customer is wrong. Whether it's RCN or Astound or whatever you want to change the company name to, it's still the same terrible service. Folks, if you're reading this, Please advocate for the better fiber companies to come service the Lehigh Valley area! Bad service, bad customer service, and deceptive business practices here...
